Shown as much as Daniher or Patton don't think so
Have you watched those guys. Both are struggling to do much. Both go goalless regularly and occasionally get a couple of goals and around 20 possessions. Patton is very much like young Tomahawk. Lauchie Henderson is a good comparison to Lee. He was drafted one ahead of Big Mac and it really took until last year to look like a good player. Lee doesn't have to be an elite a grade player just a handy third tall and he's worth persisting with. If you go to training he's actually a really positive force too. He's the Milney type of loud boisterous talker that keeps the atmosphere light and happy.

So you don't think with the year Lee has had, he needs to put a good one in next year ? Yes I know he has been injured not his fault but going into your 3rd year on a list you need to start getting results to keep your spot

Where were all these people desperate to "get rid of the spud" in 2010 when I though we really really really should be finding a replacement for Kosi. ( Actually i was never really a fan of Kosi at full forward from the time Fraser retired ).

Which spud are you referring to? We have had enough of those to keep Birdseye in business for 10 years!

Just to change the topic. Someone on SS reckons the Blues are interested in Shenton.
If we could get something for him take it, i wouldn't cry if he left but considering he'll probably be delisted i don't see why any team will give up anything for him when they can sign him as a delisted FA.

I guess if a club is interested in one of our rookies The Pelican will work his magic and drive the price up like Tommy Walsh!

OK but you have to admit, on this forum that all the Carlton recruiters may be reading, that Shenton is almost certain to be upgraded off the rookie list next year , and will probably make AA rebounding off the back line. But I don't like Carlton's chances of getting him, because Geelong and Fremantle have already made a gentleman's agreement to part with their second round pick, and Carlton would have to beat that.

CAM SHENTON : dodoro calls him "THE required player" crazy vozzo says "the must have rebounding backman, would not trade even for cripps, pick 25 and pick 26"

Shenton will be upgraded and we'd be dumb not to. we don't have that age player in the back line. Fisher is old and Dempster / Gwilt not far behind.

Even as a stop gap he is worth it.
I reckon if he doesn't get back into the senior side again this year his papers are stamped. We may favour the younger Webster, Newnes and Acres as running half backers.

disagree. he's playing a role where you want your young players developing the defencive side of their game

with wright, webster looking good. roberton uninjured good. then you have murdoch, savage, newnes, acres. then theres the players in the next 4 drafts.

i'd say we cannot afford to waste a spot on him

I would take just about any pick for Shenton, we've been banging on about HBF'ers all year and lets be honest, he deserved a call up and has played a few good games but when Roberton, Webster and Newnes are fit they're ahead of him and then we need 2 taller defenders. there just isn't much of a future for Shenton with us from what I can see. Unless he can adapt to playing on a wing maybe, he does have some speed.

I'm hoping that Newnes and Webster make it as mids. But then we have Geary as a HBF, though I'd tend to prefer him to tag the best small forward (ie the Baker role ).
