Shall we give them TDL instead? :p

Fair enough, but I figured 20 and 23 on their own probably is too much? Just trying to get my head around valuations.
Depends how much they might rate a certain player, say they rate Petracca very highly they might do something like that.

no club will let pick 1 go easily no matter how good or average the draft may sound.

If they did I wouldn't be against it. Go into the draft with 3, 20,21(PP),22, 24(GWS pick after our PP knocks it down 1). Use our 3rd on Daniel and we could be in a pretty good position.

He hasn't really said anything to get excited about, but if Melbourne finish 3rd bottom and lose Frawley, we could trade pick one for pick 3 and 4, which I would strongly consider, we would end up with one of the so called 'Big 3' plus the next best, like Brayshaw.

OR
Trade pick 3 to GWS for a player and their pick 5, so 3 players in the top 5 for one pick.

I agree with that first bit pretty much exactly what GWS said last year and yeah come trade week apparently told clubs they weren't trading pick 1 or something.

Surely 3&4 or 4&5 is too much for pick 1? I mean you would have to really rate the top pick and I don't think Roos would be too interested as he is said to not rate high picks much. If they get two picks the Dees will try to flog one of them and their second to GWS for JOR and Jaksch.

I don't think it'll happen but he said he is after a tall midfielder which Petracca is and shaping up to being the #1 pick so he might.

Maybe i worded it wrong but can read it here http://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl.../story-e6frf3e3-1226957890493?from=public_rss

Pick 1 is worth it's weight in Gold, as I have been quoted as saying here in the past. It's worth two top 5 picks every day of the week, or a Boyd or Shiel and another top 5 pick.
Exciting times ahead :)
Yeah I agree:thumbsu:
Sometimes 'number1' gets lost in the " but any pick from 1 to 30 can be a gun player" talk. But pick number 1 gives you a either a good/great player OR massive bargaining power. Pick 25 doesn't give you great bargaining power.
Tuff times at the minute but very exciting opportunity to better our list dramatically .
