It will depend on how much the AFL values its traditional sides.

Considering the popularity through the gate of traditional sides over the new 'franchises', (Lions, Suns, WC, Freo, 2xAdelaide, 2xSydney) I imagine that the AFL wants to ensure that this 'Grand old flag' remains or becomes the cash cow it should be...

IMO, they SHOULD favour the traditional sides, just as they do the 'franchises' in certain ways. Get the Dees back on their feet. The Dees have helped themselves recently with some tough decisions, the AFL acknowledged they needed help, and for the good of the competition they should continue to do so.

How many high draft picks have they had and wasted recently, including TANKING for them. The AFL would be mad to grant this. They are going to have the No1 or 2 pick in the draft they should trade it for 2 picks around the 10 mark.

EDIT, perhaps we could offer them No7 and 15 for 2, thoughts?

It would be a great result if we nabbed Laverde, Duggan, Smith and Bampton - covers just about all our needs, although I'd take Lever and Weller over Laverde and Duggan if still available.

Going by last year I wouldnt read too much into the mock drafts for us, seems like scott clayton has a bit of a license to go with his gut, lemmens and leslie were from no where (and the jury's still out)

He's a big unit. Was looking at Tommy Nicholls eye to eye. That's a handy size for a KPD reputed to be very quick.

I don't think it's anything really a draft pick is going to give us in his first year

This years draft will be all about us sustaining a dynasty. Only exception of course is trading a pick for an experienced player
