News around the traps today St Kilda will take McCartin..
If this happens I wander if melbourne would take Petracca and Wright..?
Would deffinetly change things up would GWS pick Brayshaw at 4 or leave him for the pies at 5..

Can get decent midfielders in the second round.. Blakely cavka Neal-Bullen menadue maybe cockatoo..
Can't get 2metre Peter in the second round though.
Dawes hogan wright pretty formidable looking forward line for the next 6-10 years

Don't wish them anything, when Melbourne are competitive they are some of the worst supporters going around, we might not of seen it for some time but they get very mouthy very quickly (eg Tigers fans)

Centre bounce crew in a few years of:

Hickey/Longer and Steven, Petracca, Dunstan is pretty darn good. Great mix of different types too.

If I were the Saints I'd take McCartin. Petracca will be a gun, but gun midfielders are a dime a dozen and can slip through the draft, ala Mitchell at 36 or Fyfe at 21. Gun key forwards though are rare, can disappear after the top 5 picks and you can go a couple of drafts before the next Riewoldt or Franklin appears. If you don't pick one up in the draft, then you're looking at paying $1 million+ to snatch one in the market.

No point winning all the clearences etc and kicking into your forward 50 when you have no1 to mark it or bring it to ground.. And kick all the goals.

Tom Lynch is extremely different to McCartin. McCartin is much more Fevola/Roughead sort of forward. Somewhere in between those two IMO. Very, very different to Lynch.

Petracca is also nothing like Prestia. Maybe a tiny bit of Swallow but still pretty different. I see him as a mix between Dustin Martin and Ollie Wines with absolutely ridiculous athletic testing for someone who is 95kg. Also a ridiculously strong contested mark given his youth days as a KPF.
