Do you think Wright cost him a spot at the SUNS? Is it fair to say the SUNS would have academy pre-listed him as a rookie if Wright had not been available at pick 8 in the ND? I wish him the best but I'd hate to see another local kick on at another club when he could have been running around in the red and gold.

Good for us. I'll never forget a cramping Nathan Krakouer's performance in the first ever QClash. Basically won the game off his own boot.

Difficult to say. Maybe.

Preuss is a long, long way off playing AFL football. He's got the size down but still needs at least a few years to be any chance of selection. I'd be surprised if he would even play for North's VFL team. Perhaps their development squad, but not sure he's good enough for North Ballarat.

At 205cm you'd hope he would have gone really well in the Queensland games this year, but he got well beaten in the ruck and around the ground. The only game he excelled in was when he played forward and kicked a few goals on an undersized opponent.

The physical attributes are there, but as mentioned he will need a few years at least. We need fwd/rucks that can play right now. Hence Wright.

We did opt to go a ruck in the rookie draft with Keegan, but he was widely considered one of the best rucks this year in the SANFL. Maybe we have doubts on whether Preuss could even make it? Having spent a lot of time with him, we should be in a position to know.

That said I hope he goes well. At best I can see him becoming that bash and crash Dixon type player, but that's a few years away at least.

Yeah agree , that will be the reason , he is a good 4-5 years away from playing , bear in mind he only averaged 4 possesions a game for our ressies . Very raw and with the uncertainty surrounding Gorringe and how injury prone Zac and Tom are , will probally get game time this year.

Yes, unless he develops beyond disbelief, he will never play at the elite level. A big guy to seriously look at is Hunter at Redlands. Now, this guy has potential.

Pelchen gave us the highest rating out of any clubs trade and drafting this off season. Clayton you jet.

I honestly think our drafting through both the National and Rookie Drafts was excellent and the equal of any other club. Glad someone with authority has given us the recognition we deserved. Looking at the Draft Winners and Losers thread and we barely rate a mention

Its because no one thinks of us as a threat..
Come next year when were sitting top 4 beating everyone, then we shall get the reconition we deserve
