Huh? How could he have prevented it?
Then we'd have pick 10... and no 2nd round draft pick.We had 13 and 34 to offer instead of 15 and 35 from Geelong.

I think we'll end up with Tom Lamb at 13.
They said he could have been pick #1 if his effort in games was more consistent.
He needs a professional environment and mentors who set boundaries and requirements. He could be the best player out of the draft in three years time.
Tell me about him?
Haven't seen him play, but after reading some reports on him he sounds like he will be available and would fit in up forward/down back. He has talent, just needs to work harder. They said he could have been pick #1 if his effort in games was more consistent.

And now someone on the board is saying they sent a tweet during the year and the reply was that he actually signed a 2 year extension last year. Not one.I asked the queston on the cats board, apparently Balme mentioned it on Trade Radio but nothing official. It may be a wait and see.
The response from the cats board are
1. He is, believed to be next year only. I think due to wanting more time to develop by playing in the ones.
2. didn't think he was either. I thought he signed a one year deal at the end of 2013. So can't help with any confirmation. I can only trust that Balme knows what he's talking about (and after this trade period that may be generous)
3. Don't think so.
Someone mentioned Balme saying he is. But we've seen nothing.
Angus Brayshaw modelled his game on Fyfe.I was thinking, having Fyfe in the team, and him being a role model for up and coming draftees must be a bonus to us. I remember seeing a few people modelling their game on him in previous drafts
'Get drafted to Freo and you get to learn from and play with Fyfe'
Jack Watts wouldn't me ridiculed nearly half as much as he is if he was pick 13, unfortunately for him he was pick 1.He could also be Jack Watts![]()
1. Delist Simpson (Or Tanner/Duffy) with intent to re-rookie
2. Pick #13 Best Available
3. Pick #34 Small Defender
4. Pick #54 KPP/Token Tasmanian/Pearce
5. ???
6. Profit
If Simpson is delisted, I reckon there's a decent chance we may jump early and select Garlett. I reckon though Duffy may go before Josh. I'm assuming that it still hasn't been confirmed that the Duff man hasn't officially signed an extension? So to quote my first post, looks like Taberner and Apeness and Pearce will have the work pumped into them, Josh Simpson is in some peril IMO, and we may end up with a mid or utility at our first pick

Has he finished growing?? Alex Pierce went from 189cm - 199cm in 1 year.I'll confess, I haven't been keeping an eye on who we could potentially be drafting. I just read a write up on this one. Promising, if a little undersized at 193cm... bur before we pick him up, I hope we have vetted that he is in the right head space and not potentially the type who will want to go back home in 2 years or less (please see Boyd). We really need to get some sort of return on our first round pick.
Yeah, maybe. It's a tough one, because if Ross is serious about moving Walters to the midfield, I thought Duffy showed enough to suggest he could replace him in the pocket. We all know Simpson is good enough to play AFL if he gets himself sorted out. We might see a left field delisting. Duffy might get rookied, but my feeling is if Josh gets delisted he'll be gone. I've said it a few times, but they either think he's going to work out or he won't and rookie listing him would (In my totally uneducated and ignorant opinion) only set him back. It's a tough one for the list managers alright. They may both go.
I agree on Garlett.
He's a midfielder not a KPPI'll confess, I haven't been keeping an eye on who we could potentially be drafting. I just read a write up on this one. If we are really thinking ahead, this could be great for us. Cats pick Pickett ahead of the egirls, then we get him coming home two years later. He is a big docker fan. ( we could trade MDB and Suban {joke}). Better he is at the Cattery than with the egirls. Then we'd have pick 10... and no 2nd round draft pick.
I think the Geelong/Adelaide pick trade works out well for us as Adelaide would've been more likely to draft a tall than Geelong, now with Geelong in front of us - they'll likely take a mid with 10, considering they just brought Clark & Stanley in.
Which Garlett? If Simpson is delisted, I reckon there's a decent chance we may jump early and select Garlett. I reckon though Duffy may go before Josh. I'm assuming that it still hasn't been confirmed that the Duff man hasn't officially signed an extension?
Josh is contracted for another year apparently. I'll stand corrected but i read that he was contracted. Not sure if it's a reliable source but The West stated Duffy signed a one year contract extension:
"Forward Max Duffy has signed a one-year contract extension to remain at Fremantle next season..."
Josh Simpson is the only one I can tell who is out of contract... Which means he'll probably be delisted (and hopefully re-drafted as a rookie).
This leaves us with just 3 picks in the draft. (13, 34, 54)
