Just been reading a few profiles and watching a few vids. Petracca looks over-rate judging by my in depth 5 minutes of watching youtube vids
I love the look of Garlett. Beautifully balanced and dual sided but I don't think he fits with what we need currently.

Interesting. If we get rid of Simpson, I'd say he's exactly what we need. We need players with pace and good skills on both sides. Although, I'm a big Lamb fan. Who would you take given the choice?

I take all these draft camp tests with a grain of salt. Surely you put more work into investigating potential draftees than a 1 off test of debatable relevancy?

But if I don't make wild sweeping statements about random statistics, how will I be able to contribute to the 'who won the draft' thread that appears 10 minutes after the draft?

I agree with d and e. The first three points have already been met. He's been away from all forms of footy since that event.

Nah, there is cause and effect. This is substantive.
His manager will be telling him he his extremely lucky the club has not axed him which would have been not unwarranted.

There aren't that many defenders that can keep a really good small forward shutdown for four whole quarters.
Look how often Walters or Balla will just explode for 10 minutes and kick 2 or 3. Ballas particularly can disappear for lengthy periods and then just bob up.
Nick Smith did an outstanding job on him in the finals. Sydneys ability to keep our 2 quiet is one reason the beat us.

I think it is also a lot easier to defend against our smalls when we don't have more than 1 dangerous tall.

I guess I should have mentioned my comment was predicated on hoping we would keep Simpson on the list. If we do delist Simpson then Garlett could come into contention. I haven't had a good enough look at the field yet to make a comment about who we should take.

Why would Suma be kept in the loop? He's an assistant and hes busting his nuts to get a headjob. Until he commits to Freo for next year hes a risk of taking off with the secrets.

I'm a little annoyed that we didnt manage to do some trade to up our picks. I get we didnt have the options or opportunity or the desire to do anything major that I'm fine with - but that last trade between Adelaide and Geelong was an ideal trade for us to have done.

I'm still keen on Clem Smith for a later pick, with a good preseason he can lose the fat arse, and Cockatoo looked great in the Grand Final curtain raiser (so did Weller). According to astute watchers (Chris ), Cockatoo was highly rated before he got injured, so the recent hype is just returning him to his original level. Is our first round draft pick too high?
I know we may need another tall, but I'm hopeful that we will have two or more long careers from A. Pearce, T. Smith, Apeness, Taberner or Hurley. Last one is a long shot, admittedly. Even so, I'd be happy with someone like Hugh Goddard. Just no more Ruckmen.
