I originally made the claim in this thread so let me clarify what I meant. It seems people think FB automatically means inaccurate. You can kick flourbags and still be accurate. What I mean by flower bags is that up and down arc the ball travels from boot to recieving player, almost as if the ball is rolling up a hill and down again. As opposed to some players who can deliver those long straight low passes. Clancee, as I stated, generally hits the target (said the same thing about pickett) but has a flourbag kicking style. Especially when he's kicking long. I don't ever recall seeing Clancee kicking a long flat pass, but do remember long 'up and down' type kicks. Still hitting the target, but the ball travels in an arc, not in a straight line.
Clancee is a rubbish kick.... Ok rubbish may be a bit harsh, but he certainly isn't good, has the lofty flourbag spin... Kicking definitely isn't a strength of his anyway
My money is on Geelong drafting Pickett, I feel like they must have jumped ahead of West Coast for a reason.

Didn't someone post a few months ago a bit of a study into Clanger rates for all our player the last couple of years? End result was that Clancee pretty much the most efficient kicker in the team?
Here's looking forward to a proper pre-season for Clancee this year ...He handballed 66 times to 56 kicks this season.
The year before was more like 145 handballs to 195 kicks.

Anyone remember Josh Head's kicks? *shudder*
Everyone remember what it was like when we finished so far down the ladder that there was no mystery about who our first round pick was going to be used on?
Ah yes, the good old days. When we could look at the top 5 and go "which one do we want?"Everyone remember what it was like when we finished so far down the ladder that there was no mystery about who our first round pick was going to be used on?
The good old days for me was watching blokes like Dodd, Schammer and Murphy get a game on a regular basis. Also watching the transition from old blokes like Bell, McManus, Carr and Headland to young blokes in Hill, De Boer, Walters and Fyfe.Ah yes, the good old days. When we could look at the top 5 and go "which one do we want?"
Okay, I'm assuming counting bodies like sheep has now copped enough of a pasting to be immediately repentant of his views on Clancee's kicking. Either that or our collective power of persuasion sucks...
So moving on, I wonder if we'll look to place any of the recent delistings on the permission to train list?
I saw him do quite a few nice things when I watched South play. I'd be happy if we pick him up, even happier if we picked up his teammate Eddy.I love the look of Caleb Daniel, mighty talented. His highlights video is a pleasure to watch, unfortunately he is so so small, I hope we get him.
Wouldn't that be great if Geelong grab Pickett. West Coast go into a tailspin and immediately default to pick the most vanilla, slow, medium weight WA kid in the draft.I agree Chris. Geelong lost Christensen and Varcoe. Pickett is exactly the player they need to replace them and WC would have taken him so that they wanted to jump the gun on them. So will WC settle for Garlett instead with their first pick or would that be too much of a reach versus best available.
Looking through this thread makes me look forward to the next "Who the **** is Lachie Neale" comment when we pick up someone from totally left field.![]()
