Kyle Langford. If we pick him up in the first round I'll be very happy. Sounds like he could be anything. In fact if I was a betting man I'd have money on him becoming a star of the competition.Plus he's still only 17.
If he's available at our pick, if it were me I'd pull the trigger.

I reckon that this video is a bit of foxing by the club. Making a big deal of him comparing himself to Mundy so some dumbarse recruiter from say, Carlton or West Coast takes him early in the hope that the player we like slides to us.

Doesn't look like first round material to me.

I getting more excited about him as time goes by. The kid is 17, skinny and got x factor. He can play as third tall either end and as an outside midfielder. For me, if we get I will be very happy.

There's a good chance Langford won't last to our pick, but if he does it will be a tough choice between selecting a high quality 3rd tall with midfield potential vs a more conventional defender. This might be further complicated if a mid we rate highly slips down to our pick as well.

Was just about to post this. Fox Footy/Fox Sports posting there usual crap. I highly doubt Peter Wright will be available at #17, if he were available at our selection you'd think we'd take him.

If Wright has issues with his overhead marking as reported - it'd probably make more sense to go a more natural marking forward, otherwise it could be a bit of dejavu with the issue we have with sandi not taking as many cleanly as we need him to.

Sandilands takes more contested marks than any other ruckman in the league. By miles. If umpires paid the frees he deserves in front of goals he would even be questioned.

We would be nuts to pass on Wright. I can't see him dropping that low.

I agree, this year draft will be very interesting. After the first two picks, the next 15 old picks could go anywhere. Mccartin could range from 3-10, Wright the same, Durdin 6 - 14, Goddard 6-15, Langford 6-15, Pickett 6-11, Ahern 6-15, Duggan 7-15, etc

Our choice will be very difficult to make, but for me go for a 190cm plus player.

The key there is any other ruckman - the top 10 in the league for average contested marks per game are all forwards. It depends on the criteria we're judging Wright on - whether he's more forward or more ruckman, but yeah fair call than Sandi should be paid more.

Inside Footy mock has Dockers taking Durdin, not Ellis.

I believe we need an elite disposal mid, but if tall it is Durdin looks like the best all round tall, not certain he will still be there tough.

Edit I just went back to an old Simpson thread and saw Emma Quayle's mock draft had us picking Simpson. But my point is that outside the top few picks these phantom drafts are inaccurate most of the time

think it was reported in phantoms, more as general news about his family situation which put Geelong off him and we were odds on to take him. Think it was more day of the draft news.
