How far away would McCartin be from senior footy in 2014? Is he physically already about ready?

He'd be just about ready to go. But knowing Roos' policies on draftees, I doubt we'd see him if both Dawes and Hogan are injury free.

i hope Hogan, Dawes, McCartin happens, i've now given up on Hogan, Dawes, Clark

Why? It's so close to happening.
Fair point, i don't know what came over me. it's still going to happen, right? Just believe.
Actually it still can happen, except Clark will be in different colours.

Reports are that he could play in his first year, but exactly as youngbear said, I doubt Roos would give him more than a handful of games in his first season.

Physically, he's big and strong enough to play straight away but he's a long way from being match fit for AFL footy. He'd have to have an enormous preseason and then excel in the VFL to be considered for senior selection you'd think.

My main concern with McCartin is his fitness/ability to run up the ground.

It's a tough job to expect anyone to make it as a 193cm stay at home forward these days.

I can only think of Cloke and and maybe Walker that currently do it well.

I agree - that's my concern about him too. I hope (if we draft him) that we can develop his fitness into AFL-standard quickly.

He's got a great burst of speed - but endurance and agility don't seem to be very strong.

If he can get his tank up, and tone up a little, I hope he might be able to move outside of the forward 50 on occasion.

Probably won't matter in a few years. The morons running the game will make a rule to keep a forward inside the fifty at all times. He'll suit that perfectly :p

Snoopdog has just released his annual phantom draft, and he has us landing Ed Langdon at pick 40.

That'd be a dream result..
Yeah he dropped it like it's hot.

I'm not convinced tbh. Showed his true colours when he left the Dogs for the Lions.
