Add to that, according to Knightmare, he's an elite kick. Both feet . Fap.This is what Paige Cardona says about Brayshaw in her phantom draft.
Make no mistake about it, Angus Brayshaw is adored by Paul Roos. Should the Demons hold onto their first round pick, you can put the house on the Demons selecting Brayshaw – the son of Mark and nephew of James – with their very first selection. Brayshaw has his fans because what you see is what you get: he is a serious footballer who is professional in every aspect of his game. Brayshaw is a diligent trainer and preparer, and leaves no stone unturned in ensuring he ticks boxes in his recovery. From a footballing aspect, Brayshaw is tough and courageous, dominating clearances and wins his own ball. He can move forward to kick goals, and when he isn’t doing that, he’s setting them up or inspiring his teammates with acts of desperation. Despite being largely inside, Brayshaw rates in the upper echelon in metres gained, loving to take the game on by backing himself to break lines and fend off opponents. Likely to feature in a club’s leadership group within three years, the All Australian, AFL-AIS member and Dragons skipper will automatically improve Melbourne’s list alongside some very promising kids on Melbourne’s books.
I'd be more than happy to take Brayshaw and (assuming band 1 Frawley compo) and McCartin.Jon Ralph has said this afternoon on 1116 SEN that St Kilda will draft Christian Petracca, with their first selection and look to trade into the teens and draft another big bodied midfielder.Oh well Brayshaw will turn out better

Eh, whys that?If this is true you'd think we'd be especially keen to trade P2 or P3. No point in drafting both McCartin and Brayshaw. Petracca and Brayshaw would be worthwhile, but not this.
Would just prefer a good mid to McCartin. Young KPFs make me nervous.Eh, whys that?
Which is why we need a backup if Hogan fails...Would just prefer a good mid to McCartin. Young KPFs make me nervous.

Exactly.Or a potential side kick if Hogan doesn't fail.
Either / or. Can't have too many good mids.
Easier to get good midfielders later in the draft though.
Maybe. Thought this draft was rather abundant with talls, so our 2nd rounder (if we still have it) could get us a useful prospect.
Anyway, I don't really care. Anyone but a ruckman will be right with our early picks.
Yeah there's quite a few decent tall forwards around the 22 mark. Lamb, McKenzie, Cripps, etc.Maybe. Thought this draft was rather abundant with talls, so our 2nd rounder (if we still have it) could get us a useful prospect.
Will Minson?
Cripps.... Meh. Lacks physical presence. Lamb I see as an outside midfielder come flanker at AFL level.Yeah there's quite a few decent tall forwards around the 22 mark. Lamb, McKenzie, Cripps, etc.

So your theory is pass on the top end quality talls because we can take the less impressive ones and take a midfielder that isn't worth pick 3 at 3?
Brayshaw and McCartin (or Wright who I wouldn't mind either) is a quality haul for us that does two things.
- Takes the best available talent
- Fills needs
You always go best available early in the draft.
I'm not saying to take a midfielder that's worth less than pick 3. I'm saying that I'd rather trade for a midfielder that is worth pick 3 like Tyson or Mitchell or Shiel than I would take McCartin. That being said I'd be fairly stoked with McCartin if we did get him, only that I'd marginally prefer a midfielder if there was the option to get one of similar quality. So your theory is pass on the top end quality talls because we can take the less impressive ones and take a midfielder that isn't worth pick 3 at 3?
What is wright like as a forward? I don't know anything about him really. If we picked him it would be to go tandem with gawn no doubt in 3-4 years.
Forward first, Ruckman second. Monster kick on him, good mark without being great. What is wright like as a forward? I don't know anything about him really. If we picked him it would be to go tandem with gawn no doubt in 3-4 years.

In the current age and rule environment he's an ideal second ruck prospect. I think he'll be a better David Hale, but worse Drew Pertrie.
