I don't think our fixture is that bad. We can easily be top 4 again. Should be aiming for top 2.

Only two games at the G sucks. Could've been four if they'd scheduled Melbourne and Collingwood at MCG instead of Darwin and Etihad. Not playing Sydney at home....what a surprise. Thank f**k for not going to Tassie and looks like we only make one trip to QLD this season too.

Looking forward to Boomer Harvey's return to Subi at our Len Hall Game. Suck it bitch!!!

Happy with the draw, nice soft run into the finals

I guess I've gotten to quite like going into most games thinking we are going to win like this season. I'm a bit of a pessimist anyway.

I like the draw. Two games each against Geelong and Hawthorn will be crucial 8 point games. If we could win three of these it will go along way to finishing top 2/4. Port Adelaide twice is fine and Brisbane is the best option to play twice in the middle group IMO. Kangas, Richmond, Adelaide, Gold Coast, Collingwood are far more dangerous.

First run of games until the bye are huge - must get off to a good start.

You're obviously a glass half full kinda person.

For those that are interested at the games at the G, here are the 8 interstate sides games at the MCG:
Swans - 3
Giants - 3
Eagles - 2
Fremantle - 2
Adelaide - 2
Brisbane - 2
Port - 1
Suns - 1

Would have been fair to make Melbourne VS GWS up in Darwin and give us that game at the MCG...

Yeah, please don't use the word fair when you are talking about the AFL.

I agree with GWS though, would probably be the biggest crowd that they play in front of all year if they played the Darwin game.

I am looking forward to the game, hope we give a better account for ourselves than we did this year. I don't mind us going to Perth twice a year, we have a decent group of supporters in WA.

I have been surprised by the amount of North and Geelong supporters in the West. Probably harks back to the day when a fair few WA players went to those teams.

Happy enough with that draw, skipping Sydney would have been nice and we switch Tasmania for the Northern territory but still happy it all balances out ok.

Eagles, Geelong, Hawthorn, Port and Brisbane as the doubles seems fair and the grand final replay at the mcg should be awesome.

Only the two Friday games at Subi which suits me though it'll be interesting to see what crowd we get to the Thursday night game.

And two easier games before we play finals again :)

I am disappointed that we play on sunday in round 22, which means if we finish top then we will have to play on Saturday in round 23 and Friday in the first round therefor we go into the finals after back to back 6 day breaks.

I would prefer we played the Hawks or another top 6 team at the MCG after round 15, but very happy we are playing two good Victorian teams in Melbourne.

One thing is for sure, the Eagles will start 3-0 and we'll have to deal with another media wankfest about how this is their year... except this time they'll actually have the wins on the board!

Bulldogs (H), Melbourne (A), Saints (H)... yeesh.

There seems to be a lot of people over here around my age that are Norf supporters, might have something to do with the success, Carey and exposure in the 1990s that got them on board.

I have a lot of friends who are Norf supporters in Perth as well because their parents are North supporters. I can name about 8 friends...which is huge in Perth :P Also, got to witness a lot of heartbreaking statuses on facebook this year from them...heh heh.

I always thought they had strong support in WA because of Barry Cable.

On the positive side, they get to relive their round 5 nightmare against Port.

Should definitely make the finals with their fixture though.

Reckon we will go at worst 2-1 with the first three games....... the Bulldogs game will be 50/50 IMO... remember they smacked Brisbane last year in round 1 when everyone thought they'd get smacked.

I like that we're playing Collingwood in Melbourne week one. Good first up test to see where we're at and the first derby in week seven gives the season a bit of time to build expectations, (wasnt a big fan of the week one derby this year).

On the other hand Brisbane got smashed by Vlad and co, I mean I know they want the Suns to look good and having them finish higher than their home state rival will do that but still,

Gold Coast finished 14th, double games: Haw, Bris, WCE, Dogs, StK

Brisbane finished 12th, double games: Freo, Geel, North, Rich, GC

More like revenge as the game is at Subi this time around :p

If you guys are going for an accurate recreation, I expect Port to be 7 goals up at half time. Might even need to give Lewis Broome a call to play the role of Jake Neade.

Happy with the 'weighted' system introduction FINALLY !
Will be hard pill to swallow first up, but we are in the top echelon of clubs now and we play the best to be the best. Will be rare to regularly see 17+ win teams with new fixturing system.

And we still have our double smackdown v the wannabes down the road for 'no contest' entertainment ;)

**** the eagles for being so useless and finishing bottom 6 last year - means they are our only double up from that group, and we are their only double up from the top 6. Geez they're pathetic.

look at their draw in the middle part of the year - I reckon Simpson will be under the pump from that day forward.

I like these fixtures. Lots of good games at Subiaco. No problems with going to SCG for the umpteenth time in a row. We handle it pretty well. Pity the Collingwood and Hawthorn games at the MCG are so close together as will have to choose between them.
