Melbourne give: 2OVR, Mitch Clark, 4th rounder
Collingwood give: Dayne Beams, Heretier Lumumba
Gold Coast give: Dion Prestia, 3rd rounder

Melbourne receive: Dion Prestia, Heretier Lumumba
Collingwood receive: 2OVR, 3rd rounder, Mitch Clark, 4th Rounder
Gold Coast receive: Dayne Beams

Bang. Solves Mitch. Gets Melbourne a huge asset and another player too.

Also leaves room for 3 + 2nd + something to Adelaide for Danger.
Wow we do well there. I do like Collingwood being shafted too. Would GC trade Prestia though? Didn't he re-sign last year? Doubt we'd be able to force him loose.

I like this except we still end up with Heebeegeebees Lasagna, and I just don't want him in red and blue...

Like I said in the other thread, the Gold Coast simply won't trade Dion Prestia and on the extremely unlikely chance they do then Collingwood would just take him themselves.

Parents are MFC coterie members.
And Judd, Buddy and Pendles all went for the Dees as kids. He'd be getting well paid by GC and is playing in a much stronger team with very good prospects for the future. Also life on the Gold Coast isn't too shabby. Hard to see why he'd want to leave and leave for us. (Wasn't Tyson's dad involved in a Richmond coterie? Didn't affect that.)

Add Shuey, Gaff and Dylan Grimes. Who they barracked for means nothing once drafted.

Actually hang on

So, pick 2, Clark and 4th round for prestia and lumumba?

Overs for mine

I like Prestia, I definitely do

But we need bigger mids (petracca/brayshaw)

Don't see roos going for that

Edit, plus isn't pick 2 tied up with Blicavs an hunt from the cats :D

That's pick 2 and 3 minimum though

Plus we'll chuck in our 2nd and 4th rounder

GEMS CAN BE FOUND IN LATER ROUNDS!

Like, 1 punch Marley was a later round pick, didn't you know!?
So by the end of this trade period we could have

Minson, up to 5 potatoes (aka 3rd/4th round gems) and Heftybag Lamppost from the pies.

Mark your calendars gentlemen. the Dees are going to the grand final!!!

Bulldogs ruckman Will Minson also continues to be linked to rival clubs, despite being contracted until the end of 2016 and declaring he would be at the club next season.

Think Gold Coast should take our 4th rounder, but not a bad trade but Gold Coast wouldn't give up Prestia

We shouldn't have got the pick in my opinion but one thing about this bothers me. The rationale that we will be able to trade Clark or that we will be compensated for Chip leaving.

I don't see what either of those things has to do with the awarding of a PP. One assumes we will be able to get a good trade and the other that one of our best players leaves. Assume Mitch goes and we can't get 'like' value or Chip leaves on the cheap or even stays. Hell what if Mitch stays retired?

Again, don't think we need a pp, just can't understand this part of the rationale as stated.

Good point Frawley leaving or staying has nothing to do with the priority pick. Frawley is still at the club now, and was at the club when 6 wins in 2 years happened. Him leaving and us getting compensation doesn't change the fact we had 6 wins in two years. Same with Clark it's not like the AFL gave us Clark to trade out like some mini draft situation.

Just like if Jones leaves next year and we only win 3 or 4 games again. We'll be right, we'll be able to draft another kid to replace our best player. It's all gravy - the young fella will come in and immediately have more of an impact than Jones and help drag us up the ladder. No compo required.
