Yeah, nah, I think you'll find plenty of clubs will be willing to take a risk on a talent like Clark who could turn their medicore forward line into a thing of beauty. The only question would be who would take the punt the earliest if he went into the national draft.
I would think a guy who quit the AFL mid season due to depression wouldnt be forced to a club

Probably a question for those with knowledge , but its not just what he is given , its about how he feels. If he came out and said I only want to play for the Dees great. If he said Id like to play for a team where I can just be a part of a more mature group , and take a less prominent role , great.
Its what ever is the best for him and the AFL will have to take that into account.
He left feeling like he owed the club, we'd love to have him back. I obviously can't speak for him but he was a fan favourite, he'd fit in beautifully next to Hogan and not have expectations on him.

I think the Mitch Clark love for the club has been tremendously exaggerated. This is his second club, didn't have any problems at all binning the first and leaving a smell. If and when he does play AFL again, I'd expect a heart-warming scripted thank you message to the MFC for their help in troubling times but he's beginning a new chapter in life with a fresh start as he prepares to pull on a 3rd team's guernsey. If it was Nathan Jones, absolutely, would be shocked to see him anywhere else, but please, Clark played 20 odd games for us, told massive porkies when he left Brisbane and came down here for the cash.

You can't retire and then come back to another club at the end of that season. It would be a ridiculous precedent even post Mal Michael.
I have no idea how that would work , but as far as I know Melb came to an agreement with him and he was delisted. Unless there was a criteria , "If and When" then I see him as open to anyone. The AFL would have to clarify. I think most neutrals would say the best story would be he comes back to Melb

Comes down to the compo. If we get a pick after our first rounder, then yes, I believe the club can put that to good use and we'll come out in front. If we don't , and we get an end of first round or second round pick, then it's going to make it harder to break even.

Having said that, on available evidence he doesn't appear to want to be there anyway. In which case, we're better off with him gone even if all we get in return is a bucket of horse shit.

Mitch Clark isn't a delisted free agent.

The way he would come back to us, is nominating for the pre-season draft, and we would take him with the second pick (saints wouldn't take him against his wishes).

The jungle drums are starting to beat guys. Watch this space...

Yep this is how I would see it happening (IF it happened - which I don't think it will)

I hate getting my hopes up for this because whilst I do think he is going to come back to AFL (Back in victoria, he has been doing training on his own) I'm not sure if it will be with us.

Possibly, But if I were the saints recruiters Id be down at the one fitness gym just checking up on him every week
As would I if I were the Dogs, Dockers, Cats, Pies etc
Yeh I see your point of view, if he declares himself fit, and no longer mentally or physically ill, than he is for all intents and purposes up for grabs if he decides to resume his career
