Ill start by sending his heart, but be careful cuz its fragile and there isn't much of it

No but seriously we should send him to Essendon first and introduce him essendons club doctor, who can give him a pep talk
I went and saw Bruce Reid recently and he is one of the best blokes. Tells it exactly how it is, relates very well to young blokes in general. Would flat out call you a soft campaigner if he thought you were being a hypochondriac. And yes, he sorted me out with some scripts for the good (legal) stuff. You hear in the media how much players love him and its easy to see why

Are you implying that it isn't real mate? Poor form if so.
After all these lean years, who would have thought that the thing that could lead to our club folding is the legal fallout of a collapsed Jack Watts pyramid scheme...

Surprised to see Terlich get a new contract today.
Im not, I know there is alot of hate for him but we dont have any depth in the small backs department so he will still get 10 games next year

Until we can trust a Toumpas/Salem/Watts to play HB then he will keep getting a game

Yeh fair point. And like I just posted in another thread, I suspect that we will be aiming to trade/draft in quality - not quantity this year.

We will be able to make a higher number of changes to the list next year, when we are able to participate in free agency. That's when I suspect we'll see more depth type players get delisted.

Once again for anyone who doesn't understand

We can't purge the list of spuds this year

You get x amount of draft picks to use
Once you get past pick 60 your drafting state league talent anyway
Best case scenario we get 5-6 picks inside the top 60 , the only way we get more is with trades and no one is trading for our spuds

Strauss, tapscott blease Clark Byrnes and frawley would make 6 spots

We can't chase anyone in free agency because it damages our compensation for chip

Finally for every miles that is out there , there is a tom gillies and Sam blease

Really the only way I could see us delisting any more spuds would be if we traded trash picks to Sydney and hawthorn for Rok and Sewell

So your answer is to re-sign Terlich who is as "good" as he's going to get instead of Roos having another year with younger guys who are still capable of improving?

Strauss, Blease and Tapscott have disappointed but we're better off having those three over a potato like Terlich, they are younger and still have scope for improvement and they've only had one season under Roos.

I don't like Bail but I can understand giving him another deal but I can't figure out why a shit kicking rebounding defender who can't defend gets another deal.

You say that like I made the decision to re sign them personally

Terlich is 24

Strauss blease and tappy are 23

They have been at an afl club for 6 seasons

Dean terlich has been at afl clubs for 3 seasons now

Dean terlich has 1 top 3 bnf finish
Strauss blease and tappy haven't even played 15 games combined this season

I'm glad your not in charge

So we are using a top 3 finish in the "Best and Fairest" in a 2 win season as something of significance?

Tapscott and Strauss have battle injuries and Tappy would still be in the team had he not got injured.

Blease should have been given more of a go.

The difference between those 3 and Terlich is they all offer something we sorely lack.

Tappy - Big bodied HFF/Midfielder with aggression, a good pair of hands and a booming kick.
Strauss - Very good kick of the football, improving defensively.
Blease - Very good speed and can kick goals.

What does Terlich have that stands out? 40m sideways shanks out on the full?

So a BNF finish in a 2 win season means nothing, but the potential of guys who couldnt get a game in the team that season offers something
Righto mate :thumbsu:

Strauss is this best kicker of the footy that has never kicked the footy well, Him and Hunt are the only 2 players on the whole senior list not to get a gig this year , that says more than your reading of him does

Clearly Terlich offers more than those 3 because he has played 35 out of a possible 44 games

Again Blease has been blacklisted by Roos regardless of how he performs which I could accept if we weren't a teamed starved of pace and someone with the balls to take a risk.

Tapscott worked his way back into the team only to lose his spot to injury.

Strauss has struggled this year with form and constant concussions and will struggle to remain on the list but he's a far better prospect than Terlich every day of the week.

He actually has kicked the footy well, his problem was that he wouldn't get enough of the ball.

Clearly Terlich offers more than those 3 because he has played 35 out of a possible 44 games
He wouldn't be playing ahead of Tapscott had he not been injured.

My point isn't that those three are going to turn into good players (although I believe an uninjured Tappy will) but they are all better alternatives than Terlich because they all possess something to work with that we lack, whereas in Terlich's case we have an abundance of his type that aren't as terrible as him.

I'd be fairly confident that Tappy will get a rookie shot like Jetta, I'm honestly surprised Terlich re-signed... unless Roos wants to up his trade value.

One thing I will say of Terlich though - if we get 5 good players in this D&T period he'd make a handy 27th-28th man.
