We will get pick 29 or 47, my guess is 47. We got 46 for Kennedy who back then was a very similar type player to boxer. I don't want him to go but if we get 29 I can live with it. Getting 46 would really piss me off!
Kennedy wasn't contracted, Hallahan is.

Haha, I enjoy the banter and scenarios - just amuses me when people go all chicken little and think the sky will fall in when we're rumoured to fancy a player they don't particularly like.
I trust Wrighty too. He's got a nice track record.

Thing is that isn't mutually exclusive to an opinon on whether a player would be bad/good. And that opinion isn't related to whether or not the sky is falling either. Talk about extremes...

I'm only a casual Box Hill viewer when they make the ABC - can the more ardent viewers confirm if Brand or Heatherly are at AFL back-up standard yet? With the talk around Cheney and Schoey I get worried about losing all depth down back.
I would be surprised if we let Schoey go, if Cheney went. Even if we do, we will have Spangher as depth. Pretty handy.

Is there any hope that a trade might get done today?
It is certainly making it very, very slow news on the AFL front. It is too long and these multi club deals all hold off, hoping that one of the parties will sh*t their pants as time goes on and cave for a worse offer.

Hawthorn Midfield/Gold Coast Midfield:
Mitchell / Ablett
Hodge / Rischitelli
Lewis / Swallow
Burgoyne / Prestia
Shiels / O'Meara
Smith / Bennell
Hill / Harbrow
Langford / Stanley
---
Simpkin / Martin
O'Rourke / Shaw
---
Hallahan / Sexton
Woodward / Lemmens
Anderson / Lonergan
Hartung / Boston

I really don't see how Boxer's midfield chances are going to greatly improve at Gold Coast. Assuming he's better than GC's depth, he's going to be competing with Jack Martin and Matt Shaw for midfield time, whereas spots will be opening up on Hawthorn's list.

Oh well, take 29 and run.
