All condensed into 5 action packed months. Apparently this is somewhat of a(nother) transition year, but who really knows. The spin is that this creates opportunities for growth in 2015, as if to go forward you need to go back (which is as logical as anything else in AOWR). Though we know NASCAR will be on NBC Sports in 2015, and the aero kits may be finally making an appearance maybe possibly (probably not), whether the series extends itself outside North America, as talked about, remains to be seen.

But next year is next year and this year is this year.

Juan Pablo Montoya is back, this time with Penske. Ryan Briscoe is back, with Ganassi. Carlos Muñoz steps up at Andretti to replace E.J Viso. Dario Franchitti is replaced by Tony Kanaan, who is replaced by Sébastien Bourdais at KV Racing.

A few changes to the calendar. Baltimore is out (so no more airborne trips over the train tracks). Scheduling conflicts are being blamed, probably incorrectly. Sao Paulo is out as well, promoter went broke. The big inclusion is the Indy Road Course at the start of the month of May, which, like everything else in the US, is a great idea / terrible idea.

They're desperate. Tony George and the organisation has stuffed up, and they're looking for any idea to generate success. This won't be it. They can kiss my arse.

Fan reaction dead against it. IMS doesn't seem to care.

Wrote this article last year for The Roar about the Grand Prix of Indianapolis: http://www.theroar.com.au/2013/12/11/the-grand-prix-of-indianapolis-is-a-bad-move-for-indycar/

Would be interested in people's thoughts on the road course event. I don't like it.

Probably needed to be later in the season to be a success rather than in the Month of May (which they screwed up by now having fill/bump day BEFORE pole day this year). I wonder which way they're going to go too, the F1 way or the MotoGP way?
