It's funny that Darling has the reputation for being a big bloke but Tunbridge is 5kg heavier at the same weight with very comparable body fat % (possibly better).

I feel sorry for him personally that he keeps getting injured but i dont think its a big loss to the side. Hopefully Yeo or Ellis will slot in and give us lots of run with decent kicking skills off the half back flank, which would go a long way in improving our forward movement.

another infection, when did someone give him antibiotics, not good enough, they left it too late, first cross on the board to our medical staff.

And in breaking news eagles hard man beau waters is in intensive care after he opened the door and there was a light breeze blowing, breaking both of his ankles and 235 ribs

Doctors were baffled as somehow waters managed to break more ribs than he and most of his family put together actually have. Dr hutz showed the xrays where it was clear there were possibly more ribs broken than first thought. Maybe.

All of his eyelashes were snapped clean off and he will undergo microsurgery tonight to have them reattached.

Beau responded to reporters questioning by sinking the Hmas Sydney with a collossal hip and shoulder but unfortunately dislocated his finger in the process - that will take 5 surgeries and 14 months of rehab to remedy.

John worsfold despite no longer being the eagles coach said he thinks waters will be back for the end of the nab cup season.

Use incognito mode to get around paywalls :thumbsu:The Eagles vice-captain shattered the pins and plates inserted during delicate surgery on his troublesome right shoulder in August and had to have them removed just before Christmas.
The shoulder now must heal naturally and Waters will be on light duties for the rest of January. He will take no part in contact drills, which almost certainly rules out any return for the NAB Challenge next month.
Waters, 27, is believed to be on a course of strong antibiotics to reduce infection in the shoulder tissue.
He is expected to be sidelined for at least a month and will resume training some time in February.

Sounds like a terrible injury  How does this even happen?
Where did you get that quote from ? LATE AUGUST ?
Looking at this thread on facebook it woulda been late sept he had surgery .. Seems a long time for pins in . dont pins come out the skin and thats why they are prone for infection ?

  • Beau Waters had extra shoulder surgery last week, but is happy with how it went and is confident he'll be ready for the start of pre season.

It is not uncommon to pick up an infection after surgery. The facts are you are at least a 50% (up as high as 80% in some hospitals around Australia) to pick up an infection of some sort not relating to your original illness or surgery when entering a hospital.

It is a bit rich to blame the Eagles medical staff or any medical staff for not being aware of Waters' shoulder infection. I am willing to bet as soon as Waters realised something was wrong with his shoulder - extra pain, change in the colour of the skin, swelling etc. - that he sought immediate medical attention.

All we can do is hope for the best. People on this board should realise that if the majority of the team had the courage, desperation and willingness to put their bodies on the line like Waters and Kerr (and even Brennan for that matter though he doesn't have the skill of the other two) we would never miss the finals.

Well I'm not looking forward to getting my tumour removed in 2 weeks!
