Might be worth thinking about whether Sinclair is put back on the Rookie list in round 6/7 then, or if we file an LTI for Waters.

Would it be worth filing an LTI for LeCras or Hurn? Is there a limit on how many LTI's you can file a year?

Not sure if there's a limit but we'd only need two, there's realistically only two rookies that are going to be in the mix for senior selection, Sinclair and Maginness. Can't see Powell getting to that point and Newman will be serving at Her Majesty's pleasure.

The most important limit is that once a player goes on the LTI they can't play at any level for 8 weeks. Neither Lecca or Hurn are expected to be out that long.

I'm guessing once Barrass is back we'll just LTI Waters and elevate Sinclair in his place. We can upgrade another rookie at the halfway mark so that might be Maginness if he's pressing for selection.

These injuries do suck but get Masten, Shuey and Lecra back in a few weeks and Hurn not long after. Hurn out is letting Shep develop and so far in the 2 games has shown plenty. Masten and Shuey out lets Sheed come back in and we can get a few more games into College.

We just have to hope we don't cop to many more injuries.

If we had our full squad i was hopping we would give Geelong a nudge but everyone will expect us to lose and for all we know all our players might play out of their skins and grind out a win.

Thats a good list but about half way in Lecras' 2-3 weeks needs to stay that way for a couple of weeks knowing our club. Or maybe Hurn...Lecras is usually good at getting back on time if not early. So Hurn needs to stay on 2 weeks for a good 2-3 weeks.

For all those saying we'll have all of them back in a few weeks, it doesn't usually work like that. It's likely we'll cop more injuries between now and then. Hopefully we don't get too many (hopefully none) or we'll be playing catch-up like last year.

In recent years it has felt a bit like this:

Not sure why people say we had a dream run in 2011-2012 with injuries.

2011 -

- Kerr coming back his hammies so he took a while to get going.
- Lecra and his groin ( was a quick comeback but he did miss a few)
- Rosa and his Knee.
- Beau Waters and his Elbow that kept him out for half the year.
- JK and the tennis ball incident
- Nic Nat missed 2-3 games

2012 -

- Embely was out most of the year with a shoulder.
- Lecra ACL
- JK was out for most of the year with his ankle
- Waters missed some more games.
- Quite a few suspensions to key players for key games.
- Rosa missing 5-6 games through the year.

Not as bad as 2013 but we still had injuries that affected us structurally and we still managed top grind out a win in some games with the injuries we had. I think our depth has improved and you only have to look at the Hawks on how they deal with injuries and with Simmo coming from there i am sure he has some sort of plan for when we cop a bunch injuries all at once.

I'm actually looking forward to how he copes with this and what game plans he might have in mind to combat a strong team with us having a less than full squad. Hopefully, if we lose, its only by a small margin and we can see progress.

I think the main problem last year was that our injuries were mainly to our mids. Shuey missed games, Wellingham missed heaps, Nic was never right the whole year. The previous years were forwards & wings, little bit easier to replace than mids, plus Hill had a good year when Lecca was out, which he probably wouldn't have got the chance otherwise.

Seems the way it is now... you have a squad of 45 43 (minus error minus Newman) and IF you have 30 to chose from at then end of the season you're doing ok.

Based on the 1 week at a time philosophy then...
Sheed covers Masten,
Wellingham covers Shuey (pretty stupid suspension!!),
Hutchings covers LeCras ... NO not JHill because we will need an extra midfield rotation to cover Sheed
And you still have Schofield who is flexible and Butler who is seriously getting the job done in the WAFL.

Not dead... Just a flesh wound!!

Ross Lyon said on channel 7 last night and AFL website reporting Walters MAY miss the entire rest of the season with his ankle tendon injury. Huge blow for them in terms of scoring power. Could open the door for us in the derby perhaps.

May not be our injury but damn unlucky for Freo if true.

Yeah they will struggle big time without him, & with Ballanslime still having PTSD from last years choak-a-thon & the Pavlova kicking nothing but junk time goals their already awesome scoring power will be greatly diminished!

No Barlow for the derby and it really does even it up for a us. We should have Masten back with Hurn and Lecra a small chance.
