Doesn't matter I think, disappointing but a good reality check for the boys - I think they'll be in a much better space to deal with this kind of beating anyway.

I for one am not really looking too far into it tbh. Wait until the real stuff begins. We've seen enough in the first two weeks to know that we're much better than that. Plus, Roos knows what he's doing. We'll be fine

"Its a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll " has never seemed more appropriate than now. One thing is for sure , by the end of the coming season the coaching panel will have a good idea of who can perform their required roles and who are unable to . This is a good reality check for us supporters as well . As Neil Daniher once said to me , "Hang on to something ,this is going to be one hell of a ride "

Usually when we get thrashed there's at least a couple of decent players, today everyone seemed flat. Apart from Howe, Cross and maybe Dunn I thought almost everyone else was pox.

It's interesting you put it like that. Just watched our game 1 again and the commentators stated that it was pretty warm and trying conditions. Then we fly to Alice Springs for our 2nd game. Whilst not humid still warm and a little greasy. Both decent opposition too. Maybe on top of our training it caught up with us a bit and obviously a team like Hawthorn will make you pay.

Or maybe I'm just searching for excuses, who knows?

We were nowhere near the level today I'm sorry to let you guys know. It was terrible to watch.

We were spanked in the midfield, were quickly pressured into errors in defense, and just couldnt keep hold of the ball - let alone set up attacking moves into our non-existent forward line.

Big step backwards from our NAB challenge games - although it could also be argued that the scoreline flattered us against Geelong.

Let's just hope that if we are going on pre season form at least as didn't lose by 10 goals to GW$

GWS would have beaten us by 10 goals today.

I really want to acknowledge the first 2 games an ignore this one , at least it wasn't on tv

On a side note though how good are the hawks going you can almost assume now there's no hangover

I saw the crowd was over 9k. Must have been a good atmosphere down at Casey? I've always had fun there watching pre-season and VFL matches. They need to have more night VFL games there. Saturday night Casey VFL leading into Sunday arvo Melbourne games would be epic.

Yeh I was quite surprised to see how many people were there.

It was free entry as well - but I'm not sure how they calculated the 9,732 attendance figure when the gates were open and there were no turnstiles!??

That's exactly what I thought! Very precise figure based on...??!! There was also a gate at the back side of the ground too!! It was packed though, way more than against St Kilda last year. But at 3 quarter time I reckon a mass exodus saw about half the crowd disappear (from both sets of supporters as the game was boring and to beat traffic, there's only one road outta that joint).

Cold weather specialists?

Poor Viney I reckon. Team gets a win over the Tiges, do well against the Cats, then get belted by the Hawks (when Viney is playing his first game) lol. Tough break!

Bad luck charm. We never won anything while his father played for the Dees either! It's a curse!

We were looking fine (ignoring 186) until he came to the club in 2012 and tore it down from the inside. Mark Neeld is naught but a scapegoat.
