Las Vegas is next with a few changes in the cast of 48 trying to get in. The 21 is entered this weekend, Timmy Hill drives the 33, Jeff Burton is in the 66 meaning Nemechek is back in his own 87 ride (and Morgan Shepherd is back in the rocking chair where he belongs, he's not doing the Nationwide race either this weekend). The 5 drivers in the Gun (again assuming Kurt Busch doesn't have to use a Champions Provisional) are Whitt, Blaney, Yeley, McDowell and Landon Cassill, although from the next race that will change as they use current season owner points from Race 4 onwards.

Speaking of Kurt Busch, he's also doing The Double on Memorial Day weekend, which for those who've forgotten is the Indy 500 and the Charlotte 600. Only Tony Stewart, John Andretti and Robby Gordon have done it previously.

I like Busch's chances of a good finish at Indy. He's driving with a good team in a car, driven by Carlos Munoz, that finished 2nd last year.

Marcos had to start at rear due to engine change, finished nowhere. I am feeling a return to Oz next year with Penske.

The engine change made no difference to his starting spot,he actually qualified 48th out of 48 cars.
He lost water as he went to qualify and under this new stupid dangerous qualifying system they weren't allowed to touch the car.

Brad Keselowski won the Kobalt 400 with Dale Jr finishing second. Paul Menard, Joey Logano and Carl Edwards rounded out the top five. Marcos finished one lap down in 24th.

Overall Dale Jr leads Keselowski by one point, Jimmie Johnson is third with Joey Logano and Jeff Gordon fourth and fifth respectively. Marcos has slipped two places to 19th.

To the famous Bristol half mile this week, with 46 cars looking for 43 spots. Now that we're using the 2014 Owner Points, in the gun this week are Dave Blaney (zip from 3 in qualifying this season so far), JJ Yeley and Dave Reutemann who's driving the 35 this week. Timmy Hill drives the 33, Nemechek is in the 66 this week with his 87 not entered. Back to a 2 round format for qualifying this time, although this could be chaotic on these bullring tracks, particularly when they try to cool their engines.

Carl Edwards won ( apparently )
Marcos 5th

Ricky Stenhouse Jr was second, Aric Almirola was third with Tony Stewart coming in fourth. Brad Keselowski now leads the points standings from Dale Earnhardt Jr, Edwards, Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson. Marcos has moved up to 15th.

Next race is the Auto Club 400 from Auto Club Speedway, California.

From what I'm reading, someone on the flag stand leaned on a switch that activates the yellow lights around the track on lap 499. The flag man then waved the yellow 6 seconds later (which is permissible if he sees a reason to wave it, although it appears there wasn't a reason at the time), and rain prevented the G-W-C attempts.

Good to see Kyle Larson win what was apparently a cracking Nationwide Race. He also got to do his unique NASCAR celebration again. He's had plenty of practice with it in the past, as you can see below. Hopefully he will be doing this tomorrow morning our time. ;) Motorsport in general needs more of this sort of thing rather than the "yeah my -insert sponsors here- -insert car make here- ran well today" rubbish.

Kyle Busch won the Auto Club 400, Kyle Larson was second whilst older brother Kurt Busch was third. Matt Kenseth and Tony Stewart rounded out the top five. Marcos finished in 30th place, one lap down.

Overall Carl Edwards leads from Dale Earnhardt Jr who is one point behind him with Jeff Gordon in third another point back. Brad Keselowski has dropped to fourth with Matt Kenseth now in the top five after his good run. Marcos' poor finish sees him 20th in points now.

Next race is the STP 500 on Sunday (Monday morning Australian time).

Kurt Busch wins Martinsville
Marcos ran solid all day , led a few laps and finished 5th

Dale Jr leads the points from Kenseth and Edwards.
Marcos climbed 6 spots to be 14th overall

I woke up expecting the Texas race to be on, I see Kyle Larson celebrating and get so excited, just to realise it was the Nationwide California race, I was so sad.
