NFL 2014 NFL Draft

I agree with Chism, on the face of it, it looked as though the Browns had a good draft, they picked up the first for next year but that doesn't help them this season. The problem I have is they have known about the Gordon situation for a couple of weeks and they dont draft a WR? Its mind boggling, they could have kept Pick Four and drafted Watkins, instead they bury their head in the sand. I wont go writing Manziel off just yet as some posters are quick to do, but **** me if he isn't in a lose-lose situation at the moment.

And if hes only gone for 4-8 games? Chances are they suspect/know the penalty won't be a full year - even if it was you don't use a 4th pick to fill a one year gap, they trade r*ped the Bills.

The Browns have no pass rush so the secondary is useless if you give the opposing QB 10mins to throw the ball.

Manziels arm is no better than T-Bows and TBow was a bigger body and still did not succeed with an identical playing style to Manziel. You can not just run over everybody at the Pro level like college and there are so many comparisons between Manziel and TBow it is not funny as they are identical coming out of college with game styles that mirror each other.

Little and Cameron have upside but are no stars and Gordon will be suspended for sure i reckon.

They may surprise a few teams early and have a few wins but they will be worked out quick and be around the 5-6 mark for wins.

Manziel is a far better passer than Tebow. He is far more accurate over distance than Timmy.

He'll be a quality QB.

Not with NFL quality pass rushers in his face he wont be and even more so in the division he has landed in. He will get smashed at the Pro level and RGIII was the same and they are even bigger bodies than Manziel was in college.

Meh pick really......

Spare me and time will tell. He is to small and lightly framed to bring his College game to the Pro level successfully with little weapons at his disposal.

Did anyone even see what the Jags did with Bortles and how they drafted to help him by giving him ammunition???

You're giving way too much credit to the rest of our division.

One over the hill QB, one who is too busy counting his money and one who is a third stringer at best.

Manziel is looking pretty good.

Naive comment Chris.

Never under estimate your division rivals and Flacco, Big Ben and Dalton have miles on Manziel right now and also better all round teams in every department on the field and off it.

I was joking...

But to say the Browns are last in every department, well that seems a little naive to me.

All good mate.

But i cannot see 1 area in your team where you have an edge on the Steelers, Ravens and Bengals....

That division is up for grabs IMO. Far to early to call Manziel a bust at NFL level - he showed in his final year he can move towards a NFL style offence.

If there's one thing I've learned with QBs like Wilson, Kaep etc is that the game is still evolving and what type of player can be successful under centre is as well. If he fails at least we won't be able to point to the team hes been drafted to, that offense is ready to explode and Manziel could be the ignition required.

One things for sure, I'll be watching more browns games next year then I have in the last five. I want to see more J Football

I'd be taking our secondary, offensive line and potentially defensive line. Cameron at TE too.

I'm cautiously optimistic, and I was before the draft too.

Eh, I do prefer the Ravens' secondary with Ward leaving the Browns, but I'd definitely give you a top one or two OL (Bengals would be the other) and Cameron - probably the best overall receiving corp when Gordon's out there.

Have to agree that the AFC North as a whole is looking to become the next best division in football.....or the next most entertaining division.

My thoughts on Manziel are top secret tho due to fantasy drafts, and have to keep pretending many things.

Big calls tho, i think Jaguars, Dolphins, Raiders, and Browns could well be super bowl contenders this year.

Yes, and the Seahawks, 49ers, Broncos and Patriots will have picks 1-4 :drunk:

This is top 3 most outlandish things you have ever said and that is saying something

No need to save that for a podcast with a bunch of funky music and poetry. Am confident to say it now.

yeah right GG. Don't hold much hope for any of the QBs in this draft.
Re: Fantasy QBs.....sorry, but the Pail Riders do not comment on rumor and speculation

What's your opinion of Alfred Blue, DB?
I'm not going there.
I refuse to judge the #2 RB in a college committee.

I learnt that seeing Felix Jones bust and DJ Harper destroy all my hopes.
