If the rumour is true, and that is all it is at the moment, I would be surprised. Not sure what the reasoning behind it could be. If the reason is that the Port AFL team don't wear those colours at AFL level, that makes no sense, because we all know Port would have chosen to wear black and white and nothing else if they had their way.

I know what it is. The SANFL clubs want the Magpies to stick with tradition and bring back the pink!!!

I don't really care what the SANFL make Port wear but if they wanted to tell us we need to have the same jumper in both, and that was the SANFL jumper as our away jumper I wouldn't complain.

….. I also know that if Port wants it, it's the SANFL's duty to oppose it.
Again with the big bad nasty SANFL. Simply because port doesn't get it's own way every time (and that's not through lack of trying) doesn't make the SANFL the bogeyman. There are other SANFL teams to consider. Why is it Port thinks it is entitled to dictate all terms in all negotiations with the SANFL. It's all very well to want the playing field to slope in your favour as every club would want, but Port seems to think it's an entitlement.

Tell me why they are doing it? What is their reasoning? How does it benefit the rest of the league?

This is one of the changes that is apparently rumoured maybe there are a few more coming also like losing the Acadamey team, home games and restrictions on age.

You ask why? Maybe its there way of not kicking you out but making you want to leave!!!!!

Can I ask why you think Port continuing as the Magpies in the SANFL is an unfair advantage to the other SANFL clubs?

I don't know why whoever is doing whatever. I don't know what motives the SANFL would have, if it is the SANFL or if it is Port wanting it to happen, and you still haven't answered why it is a conspiracy against Port when it seems clear that it would be of benefit to jettison the magpie brand and jump on the Power bandwagon. Do you seriously think the SANFL is out to get Port?

:confused:I've never thought that. I can't see any advantage at all in retaining the magpies brand. In fact it's probably a disadvantage. The structure however of having all Power AFL players plus the lower grades of the magpies is an advantage over all other SANFL teams. Why do you think Port should have that advantage? more entitlement? Because isn't that what they fought for?

I'm pretty sure the "they" they are singing about is the 60% of Port supporters who went missing when times were tough. They were the ones who nearly tore the club apart.
But but that was their way of forcing change, it hadn't nothing to do with the fact they were losers,

Reading respective boards.

Sydney look like having three big ins for the game against Richmond (Kenneddy,Mglynn,Read) Gold coast look like adding a few noted defenders freeing up a forward. As stated in another thread, West Coast have some issues. No way Caringbush will win.

It would be fitting if Gold Coast won this week after the year they've had. I think they're probably in front of where Port was at the same time. This is the one we would be most anxious about.

Saturday is going to be a ball tearer of an afternoon to watch the footy!

Port vs Freo battle for 4th at 1:10pm

Sydney vs Richmond at 2:40. Start flicking between the 2 games!

For some reason i thought GC vs WC was that night, but the afternoon will be a cracker!

Then get back from the City to Surf on the Sunday and start watching WC vs GC before our game kicks off and hope we're still in the race.....

Yes i still hope! Deal with it ;)

My old man has 1 bet a year of $1000 (only on football). This year I told him to put it on Port to make the top 4. Last year he put the same bet on Port to make the 8. Both bets were at 7-1.

You telling him to Hedge?
Nope on the nose. At the start of each year he asks me to give him the best value longish shot and it has to be at least 5-1 and he throws $1000 on the nose. He's been doing it at the start of the year since 2012 and is cleaning up. Depending one what happens at trade/FA/draft, I'm thinking next year could be Essendon to finish top 4 or the Bulldogs top 8. Should get 7's for either of those.
