Apart from disappointing and pissing off non-magpie power supporters.Nothing will be gained and nothing will be lost from wearing black and white apart from making the VFL realise that most of the Australian public see the AFL as AFL and not VFL.**** the VFL
Having spent the best part of 3 months in a hospital bed, its nice to be out and about and home again.
With that said, I wanted to thank all the doctors and nurses that treated me well at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
From a supporters perspective I feel robbed that I lost being able to follow my Club properly in 2014. I was able to pick up bits and pieces here and there from family, friends, and C7.
But there is some things I just cant understand WTF happened this year? Did we have players injured, because usually I only saw the selected team once it hit the ground and I couldnt understand some of the selections made and just from what I saw only on the TV (so please excuse me if I am way wrong) I got the feeling we lost crucial matches basically in the coaches box. Was Matt Crouch injured since June??
Anyways its nice to be back and I look forward to the banter with my fellow true die hard supporters for what will be an exceptionally long preseason!![]()
I'm really not sure why you guys are so concerned. ....
IMO tad exaggerated but along the right lines. Any so called new supporters at AFL level both know and respect the heritage.Think we overstate the SANFL thing these days any rate. Look at the numbers, not that many people actually give a shit about the SANFL. The youngsters certainly don't.
I have and I usually just walk away in disgust
You mean the national audience haven't ad nauseam heard the 1870 dribble. Lucky themIt's a matter of equity.
I have a healthy respect for Port Adelaide but wish no good will to the onfield success of the team! I hope Norwood smash the Magpies on Saturday.
However, none of that changes the fact that the AFL have dicked you guys over in the most ridiculous way and put the club in a difficult situation that they shouldn't have even have to have contemplated... I'm not overly concerned about non-Magpie supporters getting annoyed at the PB, because that basically doesn't make sense (it's still Port Adelaide, ffs)
If anything it's just the wider national audience that may get confused... There are plenty of people interstate that don't know any SANFL history, or care about SANFL history, who have watched Port Adelaide's rise from the cellar over the past 2 seasons and have maybe taken them on as a second team type deal... Come Sunday afternoon there is going to be a completely different strip out on Adelaide Oval that the national audience hasn't seen at all this season... it's a bit rough...
also it's a big talking point so there is going to be lots of discussion about it no matter what![]()

In all seriousness, that's what I don't get though. How does wearing the prison bars increase that figure from 7% in the future? You can't continue to survive on your existing supporter base from the SANFL. They're not growing and there's not enough of them for you to remain viable through the troughs.I'm really not sure why you guys are so concerned. The data shows that 93% of Port supporters are also Magpie supporters. Most Port supporters have barracked for Port their whole lives. They know who Port are and where they come from.
Any Crows supporter over 30 used to barrack for some one else. Does being "The Pride of South Australia" preclude people that are from or reside elsewhere from barracking for the for the Crows? I mean seriously, these arguments go around in circles.
93%? You sure about that? If that's true, and you don't have the audacity to suggest more than half of all SANFL supporters follow the Magpies, then it only proves how relatively small Port's supporter base is in the state. But that can't be right, because you were laughing at the very idea of it being a 70-30 split?I'm really not sure why you guys are so concerned. The data shows that 93% of Port supporters are also Magpie supporters. Most Port supporters have barracked for Port their whole lives. They know who Port are and where they come from.
