Seriously crappy news - puts a real dampener on the summer of cricket.RIP Phillip Hughes.
Sure do - no matter how many times he tells himself he did nothing wrong & it was a freak accident, it's not going to make him feel any better. That's just awful. Got to feel for Sean Abbott right now too.
Rename the riverbank stand? I think whatever is planned needs to be uplifting for the sake of his family and friends.First test has to be called off out of respect to all players involved and should be remembered forever as Phil's test.
I'd say there will be a massive memorial ceremony throughout the second test in Adelaide.
I don't think that's likely, nor appropriate, but I'd love there to be a memorial at the ground, so that he has a presence, if only to remind us that there's more to life than sport.Rename the riverbank stand? I think whatever is planned needs to be uplifting for the sake of his family and friends.

There must be something tasteful done at the Adelaide Oval test to remember him by - the Adelaide public will want to show their respect.First test has to be called off out of respect to all players involved and should be remembered forever as Phil's test.

Given the World Cup, I don't think there will be any space for the 1st Test to be moved... but it is hard to see the players in the right head space by then, given all the team have played with Hughes & would be absolutely gutted by this tragic event.Jim Maxwell was just on the ABC calling for the 1st test to be called off or moved to a later date

This is where i think theres going to be issues. Obviously a punch is intentional contact. So is a bump. If you then hit the player high is it careless or intentional? you intended to bump them, so do you take responsibility for the outcome of your bump? or because you only intended to bump them below the shoulder does that make the high contact careless? what about if you jump into the bump? obviously your intention wasnt to hit the player high, you only intended to bump and within the rules of course. They'll likely say you choose to bump, it's an intentional grading. Which is silly when you lay a legal shepard but accidentally clash heads, or the bumped player hits his head on the ground, gets concussed and you get reported.
PAFC to announce a new sponsor today.
Unfortunately the Trigg led AFC scoffed at the offer and by the time the Roo and Fages led AFC made contact it was to late![]()
I can't tell if you're being satirical or serious?
