I am not a fan of the 20 metre kicking rule. I don't think it will improve anything. If anything it could make it worse by encouraging teams to continue to kick backwards more often to hold onto possession.
If they are looking to decongest the play all they have to do is reduce severely the rotation allowance. My call is for players to have a minimum of 5 minutes on the bench once they come off. The fitness demands will be too high and players will be forced to rest on the field and will have to hang back in their positions.
