Ok, Port going hard after Tex.

Walker to Port for long term contract $1,000,000 per year, according to Kingy.

Alrighty then.
OK…I see now I've been a bit slow on the uptake with this. Already been talked to death elsewhere, but I'm keen to know how we will keep Tex, Sloane, and Danger, because every club in Australia say the'll be making a play for them.

We will keep them because they're the future of the AFC. Ricciuto, McLeod and Goodwin MkII. Players like these stay.

No different to the gun players of 17 other clubs. Simply create an environment the players enjoy being in and they should stay. $ will be there if they stay, and I don't think it'd be the main motivation for any of them.

Anyone see the quote from Mark Evans defending the jumper decision that Richmond can use their home jumper vs port in normal games but not finals. Was so much like Trigg trying to defend why the board didn't sack him, words along the lines of "I wish I could explain it better but I can't". Hillarious if it wasn't so disgraceful.
Hard to explain the unexplainable - need to be a "bloody good" politician!

Can not see it happening.

$1,000,000 would not be enough as I'm sure the crows will offer something like $720,000 to $750,000 a year. That's basically $250,000 to shift club, then add the tax man and it decreased to something like $135,000 a year.

$135,000 would not be enough to change clubs in the same city. Moving to a different state wouldn't be so bad but going from the crows to the power (and vice versa) would cause way too much crap in his day to day life.

It's not like it's just 2 hours of footy each week. It's every day that he will live with that decision. Imagine going to the shops, getting petrol, movies or just down the beach - I'm sure someone will remind him.

Won't accept it anyway. Nothing to worry about.

Is it really that bad here? I know night clubs are a different story, but do fans really hassle players in every day life? What losers. As much as I dislike wanks like Wingard, I would never hassle him regardless of size.

I don't think Port will have the room in their cap to accommodate Tex in the first place.

No, not at all but what would it be like if he went from the crows over to the port power?

Do you think the fans would just accept it or give him some curry?

At the game sure, fair game. I guess I can't speak about what others would do. I wouldn't.

If I saw Tippett say shopping I wouldn't abuse him, I would think yes you are an a-hole but it wouldn't cross my mind to hassle the guy. I think if Crows fans did that it would be disappointing and immature.

On Sunday mornings in 00s I often would regularly see Power players having brekkie at Semaphore, I never saw any fans hassle them even once. I remember young kids getting autographs but that was it.

If he left, and went to Port Power - I don't think it would be pretty.

If you don't like Tex you're un-Australian

I can easily see how Danger can piss off some opposition supporters, but definitely not Tex. Sloane as well.

He has somewhat likeable charisma about him.
