So I am reading that the Western Bulldogs are getting Luke Darcy in to help them find a new coach...hmmmmm. Do they not see + hear the same Darcy everyone else sees?

Can imagine every coach who interviews that Darcy will "just love the way they go about it". I am surer he will ask the hard questions....productive.

If I was a dogs fan...after what just happened I would be pretty disheartened by that.

Or perhaps they realise those drafts picks are just likely to leave in a year or two if they keep losing and hence GWS just become an ever dwindling recyle factory for draft picks.

Of those names - Johnson and Howe are the odd ones. Johnson is 30+ and Howe is a decent footballer - but hardly top shelf.

However Ryder/Motlop/Breust are all quality players and makes sense to go after them.

What I do find odd (and destined for tears) is the CEO getting involved. That has Schwab and Freo/Melbourne written all over it.

Most CEO's are not football specialists, so sticking your nose into talent/recruitment is fraught with danger.
