Think you're overrating his kicking there. It's the NAB Challenge - where every fringe player is made to look like a star.
I recall him having one very good game and being average in the rest.
Stevens is ok as a player, he can give it a roost now that he's over his OP, but he's hardly an elite kick.

If a newspaper article was posted titled "Paint seen drying on wall at ASADA headquarters." someone would post a thread about it on this board. And it would generate 10-15 pages in the space of half an hour, as follows.
(Random Club Supporter 1): "AHAH! White paint, neither red nor black! This is it! Infractions imminent, Hird fanboiz about to have egg all over their faces!"
(Random Club Supporter 2): "Logically the only reason the paint would be drying is if they've had to outfit a room for a big media conference, like one where they are finally going to announce multiple season bans for every bomber player."
