Was thinking this earlier. The best in the compe aren't as good as they were last season (Pav, Sandi, Goodes ect all on the last few legs), Buddy is gone from Hawks to a team where I think he'll at the least be in a different role and the way he's just spent time in the gym all summer means he's not as agile as previous. Geelong are cooked, Pies aren't what they used to be.
So many variables as to what might happen. Besides watching us play football I'm also really curious as to how GWS, Gold coast and Melbourne are going go, and all the Essendon stuff to surface. Also really don't want to see any of Geelong, Hawks, Collingwood and the Swans in finals, is getting pretty predictable.

What does everyone think of Patrick Cripps. I saw a photo in the paper and this kid looks monstrous. Like he is everything everyone was crying out for in the draft, a big bodied mid. How do people think he will go? And do we need to get him home?

Erm he was only just drafted a few months ago, bit early to talk about getting him home? Carlton were crying out for someone of his type, and with Judd getting older he will be a good fit for them. There were questions on his kicking pre-draft though.

Serious? ****. Poor bloke.

Not saying he's cooked, but I wouldn't be considering him when it comes to assessing Freos finals prospects.

I feel sorry for him, as he has talent. having said that i couldnt believe my eyes when i saw him playing in the ruck for Freo in that game against us at Joondalup. You'd have to be crazy putting an injury prone guy in the ruck first game for your club and first game back.

How quick can it realistically be phasd out?

Would have to be gradual, they need to allow the swans time to adjust future contracts downwards to keep under the cap.

It's a good thing they don't have any really long term large contracts on their books or anything...... ;)

No more COLA for Sydney, this should get interesting now.
If we can get by without coke, they can get by without cola!

I'm curious to watch John Marsh for Collingwood. He was an intriguing draft prospect and the fact that he slid so far makes him more interesting.

I wonder where Collingwood will play him and whether they can calm him down.

I liked what little I saw of Marsh, man he is a big fast unit good luck to anyone tackling him when he's in full flight ..

I look forward to hard hits being brought back

Given Waters' career is at serious risk due to his injuries, I wonder about this. Not sure if his injuries were caused by the situations he tends to get into, but surely it can't have helped them. Nevertheless, I agree that it's good to see that (at least some of) the people making the rules value bravery and accepting that some risks are inevitable, even in games.*

On a related note, I would be really interested in seeing a breakdown of player injuries by type, severity, duration, and (probable) cause. I'm sure that teams get that data for their own players, would I be too optimistic in thinking that the laws committee (and tribunals) have access to that information and take it into account?

*Because let's face it people, AFL isn't about life and death - it's more important than that.

I'd prefer Harrison

Haven't seen a lot of Harry and didnt do nada against wce but have heard he may get some games at Sydney this year .
Jon stands out more in appearance being 5cm taller ,5 kgs heavier and faster .He may not have footy skills yet but has plenty of upside to be very damaging..

Waters is just dead unlucky with his most recent injury. Most times shoulder recos work out just fine, but it had to be essentially unconstructed because of an infection. If that infection didn't happen he'd be fine.

His foot injury was bad luck too. Although I do feel he has genetically inferior elbows lol.

From memory Jonathon is 191-2 and Harry is 190.
