THis quote made me chuckle:
So “Fletcher is playing at the moment” doesn’t fill me with confidence and Chappy, who has an ankle problem coupled with a fear of flying and a 32-year-old body, would seem highly unlikely
Have always wondered if there are many players that have a fear of flying since you pretty much will be on a plane almost every second week.

Despite all their injuries Sylvia still can't crack a game for the Dorkers, he must really be impressing down there.
The Dorker faithful were drooling over him preseason, hasn't impressed at all at Peel.
He's never even looked like being a good player. I don't know why people always expect him to improve. I don't buy into this "if he wasn't lazy, he'd be good" crap. He's just a really, really average footballer and I was stoked when Freo signed him.Despite all their injuries Sylvia still can't crack a game for the Dorkers, he must really be impressing down there.

Watts is the sort of player I'd expect to do well at a good and well coached club. If he played for Sydney, Fremantle or Hawthorn for example he'd be up there IMO with some of the great players his age. He's always shown glimpses though, games or even a patch of them in a row where he'd dominate and you think whoah he might actually live up to his high draft pick status. You get the feeling Watts is heading down the same track.

Because he's spent his whole career at a soft club with average coaching staff and not many on field leaders.Watts lacks mongrel. Doesn't have that intense competitive instinct that the best players have
He's a better version of Andrew McDougall
I've always wondered the same thing about Jack Trengove. Showed a lot of promise in his first 2 years, but looks absolutely toasted now. Not sure if they picked the wrong guy at 2 or whether they screwed up his development but the guy seems barely AFL standard.Because he's spent his whole career at a soft club with average coaching staff and not many on field leaders.
What I said above for Watts could go for all sorts of players that play at Melbourne.

edit: Just noticed he got dropped to the VFL last week and isn't picked in the seniors for this weekend.

Trengove was a pretty unanimous choice in the top 3 that year.
Was proven in the SANFL.
In retrospect though Cunnington was the pick of the top 10 IMO.
If they pull off the impossible, Bigfooty will go downHoping the Dees can muster something againt Carlton today.
Richmond have been average all year. Hopefully they are average when we play them.
For some reason they play Subi really well. They nearlly rolled Fremantle there couple of weeks earlier.Unfortunately their form leading into our game against them last year wasn't brilliant either and they blew us off the park
