Watching the Freo vs Ess game - so tired of watching ugly footy / scrum-like tangles at every stoppage. I absolutely hate the Lyon mantra and teams that have adopted it. Borefest!

I think the North/Sydney result is handy. Every now and then I mess around on the AFL Ladder predictor and it's always out of us and Sydney for 8th and 9th.

Freo pumping the Dons even when they are missing Fye, Barlow and Mundy. Just goes to show we have no ****ing depth in our side esp the midfield.

I was thinking today after watching North smack Sydney today at the SCG, how I'd never expect us to do that now or in the next couple of years. We're just not good enough.

Not to mention they were missing Ibbotson and Walters, its funny how their outs almost mirror ours yet they still manage to play exceptionally well and win the hard ball.

Edit: not quite mirror because their outs are better than our outs.

Yeah freo's depth performs better than ours because they are coached incredibly well. I still don't think our fringe players are that bad, we just don't seem to develop them that well

Freo had 4 of their best mids out and one of their best forwards, its more of a reflection on how good freo are at covering their outs than how the Dons managed theirs.

I don't mind Essendon supporters or the club , but it was nice to see them lose by as much as they did today and have their % trimmed . Sure dockers gained % but they also lost a heap last week and remain *just* behind us on %(opposite way around to round 1) so it's all good

Agree about the outs but it was also a reflection of the heat (Dons struggled with it ) and 2 extra days break . They didn't seem to cover their outs so well last week....

Just checked the forecast and saw that Sat is predicted to be >30C again! If only the game was an afternoon one like Freo's today - then it could've helped us against Port!

That's terrible sorry to hear you had that experience but there are arseh*le supporters of every club.
I didn't attend the 2012 etihad bombers game but did go to last year's one - which turned out to be our last win for the year . The supporters were fine then (or the ones who were still left by the end of the game were ), but then again, they had just gone through the worst of the asada saga + it's consequences so the atmosphere was vastly different . I've had a similar experience at a Carlton away game though from years ago (my first ever at etihad ) and that's coloured my view of the club even further (have hated them since the salary cap cheating days and especially since Judd left ), so can understand how you feel after such an experience

They couldn't cover them last week , but still agree on the whole . I don't see us having a 2010-like season (we've won too many games so far and have too high a % with too good a draw to finish that low) but 2013 like is a distinct possibility
