Yep, we debated that a fair bit on our board. But when you looked at the video footage, Fyfe had absolutely no way of not hitting him because of his forward momentum and because Mackie ducked into the tackle. Also, Fyfe was intending to tackle not bump (which always gets an elephant stamp from the AFL for being the "family friendly" choice).

Hawthorn look tired, Geelong isn't a huge worry for Fremantle, and they have played well against Sydney recently too. It's wide open, I reckon they're a good chance of going all the way.

TBH I don't really have anything against Sydney. I know the COLA thing and the rivalry we once had etc but I just dont really harbor any hatred towards them. We both got a flag in those years, pretty fair, and it's our fault that we have sucked since then, and they haven't. I'd be happy for anyone to win it apart from freo.

I don't care who wins it in years we aren't in contention. For the sake of an even comp I'd prefer it wasn't Hawthorn/Sydney/Geelong as they've all won recent flags, but if it HAS to be one of those three, Sydney for the troll value (would love to see the vic sides whinge. Nobody whinged when they won a flag against us with COLA/Barry Hall!). I'd prefer Freo (and Port, though they are now very unlikely) because they haven't won recent flags.

It would shatter Ross Lyon mentally! Freo would recover , mostly because their older group of players are approaching the end of their careers anyway so it won't take long before they have a younger team (?and even a different coach)

Le sigh. The Dockers are everything we used to be. Now look at us. I comfort myself in the high probability that they won't quite manage to win a flag under Ross due to the strength of Sydney and co., and will be left in a very weakened state when Pav etc. retire and Lyon gets a better offer elsewhere.

So whacking a guy in the head off the ball is what ball players do?? Or kicking guys in the nuts is what ball players do??
