He's just retired from the AFL who has essentially been playing as an on-field coach over the last 2 seasons. McCarthy rates him very highly as a leader and a coach.

Hawthorn and Geelong has been a bit done to death. Sydney & Fremantle looks like the only game I'd be keen to watch and even then, you know, it's Fremantle.

Richmond vs. Port will be huge, even more so after the jumpers fiasco.

Hawks and Geelong is always epic, even if it's been done to death.

Really? I know they knocked off the Swans last week but I just reckon the Tigers are no more than mediocre. I find myself not caring about the result because whoever wins will probably be obliterated in week two.

Richmond being essentially mediocre doesn't change the excitement of the game for me. They are a bit of a bogey side for Port though and will be on a massive high given their run home, I'm really excited about the game.

I'm looking forward to Port v Richmond and Norf v Essendon more than the two QFs because it's "sudden death".

I dunno. I see value in all of the games:

Hope Richmond get utterly smashed.
Hope Essendon get utterly smashed. They deserve no success.
Hope Sydney lose. I have no issues with Freo. Should be a quality game nonetheless.
Hawthorn and Geelong will have something enjoyable no doubt.

They will have to find some other talls besides Dawson and Silvagni to cover Sydney's forwards

As of 8pm Monday, only 18k seats at the MCG for North vs Essendon, 27k for Hawthorn vs Geelong and 48k for Sydney vs Fremantle.

I quite like all four games, although outside of my own team playing I am looking forward to Swans vs Freo.

It's going to be soaking, so I don't think it'll hurt them too much.

Sydney won't drop Tippett or Franklin, so the additional ground level ability of Freo on a sloppy small ground will be an advantage to them IMO. I'm tipping Freo to win
