We had 2 goes at the Selwood and we lost both times. But it is amazing the gap in ability between the 2. Just goes to show there is more to ability than just genes.

Spangher has been very serviceable for the Hawks over the past few years. Deserves his spot ahead of Schoenmakers.

Nothing wrong with it, lots of 'role' players at the best clubs that get carried a bit by the stars. I think they like having the extra tall because it means Gibson doesn't have to be accountable at all and can be the third man up at basically every single contest.

A role player by definition has a role. Spanger's seems to be 'the defender we use when better options are injured.'

*edit* Well okay maybe they do want Gibson as a 3rd man rather then defending someone.
