That was intense. Interesting watching Geelong's instinctive, creative overlap through the middle go down against the precise, first-option kicking and switching of play of the Hawks. Watching the way they get the ball to their best kicks around the center circle for a long kick to a leading forward in space reminds me of what we had 'click' for a few games there at the end of the season (with our best midfield kicks being Hurn, Shuey and Gaff)

That's a sensational kick from Burgoyne. Still one of my favourite players.
Yeah it was quality and he's a gun. When the debate over recruiting Wellingham was on at the time of the trade I posted on the main board that we were paying the same for him as the hawks did for Burgoyne. I felt based on that we we're paying way too much, others said I was wrong. I'm bloody sure I right now.

Hawks gave up no. 9 to get him. We gave up 18(?) for Wellingham.

Yeah i thought it was less sorry, wrong twice hey. We still paid overs for Wellingham haha

I dont think we did. I think he is playing nowhere near his capabilities. If he doesn't come right then yes we have but he is better than what we have seen. IIRC his first few games in 2013 (after the trampoline accident) showed what he can do.

He has shown when fit that he's got the talent I agree with that. His problem is obviously his attitude. How can a 26 year old quality mid get dropped to the wafl because of a lack of effort. That's what we accuse Hill of not someone we traded our first rounder for!!

True enough.

Please win tomorrow Sydney, I don't want another week of GF hell from all the bandwagoners, as I cant see them missing a GF if they get a home PF. And I hope the rain holds off, as Sydney are shite in the rain. :(
According to the weatherman it won't hold off. I think we gonna see much purple in September again unfortunately.

Angus Graham (ruck) & Shaun Mckernan (key position) both delisted from Adelaide. That IS clearing the dead wood. Probably both had some currency (ie small pick upgrade due to their desirable size)
Thank shite we're stocked with decent talls or we'd be getting excited about list fill ins like the 2 above.

Rohan being penalized just then for not taking a bounce makes me think that altering the traveling rule (increasing the time before a bounce is required) would lead to more exciting runs and passages of play. Would this be a good idea?
