Still not totally convinced about Port. They might do a Bulldogs 2008-2010. Similar attributes, lots of run and stun but lacking depth in the KPP/Rucks. Nabbing Ryder would obviously help.

So hopes for the Brownlow?
I'd love it if Gray or Parker wins.
There should be ten weeks (Rd 5 - Rd 14) where Selwood shouldn't get any votes and I feel like him winning would not reflect his or other players years.

There is 8 weeks where Gaz won't get a vote either.

I'm not sure Gray will poll as well as the betting suggests, for much of the year he was completely out of mind. But would be great to see him do it, have rated him highly for a while.

All I really want though is Pridda to get top 5, that would be awesome.

I think Luke Parker at 100/1 is worth a shot. I have definitely backed him. I also backed Matt Priddis at 50/1 six weeks before the Home and Away season ended. The way I look at it, is you may as well go the long shots and make some real money. I think it will be very close this year.

I too think Gray will underpoll. Typically the umpires take at least half a season before catching on to a players form. Don't be surprised if some of his better games earlier in the season don't poll while his weaker games in the back half do (not that he played many "weak" games in the last 8 weeks).

Onto the grand final, when was the last time a team made three changes for a grand final which is what Hawks may do?

Why was McEvoy dropped in the first place? Or was he injured?

Given the Hawks run with injuries this year it would be a remarkable effort to win the flag. Many other teams have faltered.

Priddis was a faint chance but his last two weeks have killed him IMO.

true. remember McEvoy not playing great. It just seems like a very awkward spot to now be in where you could be dropping the bloke for the GF and bringing back McEvoy.
Big boy is just not that good. St Kilda got a good deal out of him

As opposed to our battery of highly skilled midfielders...

But he's no real upgrade on on Hutchings & Selwood.

A along way behind Priddis in ball winning (equally bad at disposing).

Doesn't have the foot skills of Shuey, Masten Rosa, Gaff.

Not including others that have runs through the midfield at times like LeCras or Yeo.

Having him miraculous back wouldn't improve us much; i.e. another slowish player with questionable skills and decision making under pressure.

He'd be behind Shuey. He'd be better than the rest, including Priddis. His marking ability and endurance to be able to get up and down the ground is far better than Priddis. He isn't as good at clearances, but has Priddis covered in pretty much every other aspect.

His 2013 was fantastic and his 2014 a step down as others have gone past him and taken more midfield time away from him.

I will add, from what I have seen - I do expect Yeo to go flying past him

Ok then if that's the case. I do admit I have seen him more in 2014 than 2013 and seems always as that 'nearly' sort of player.

Nearly kicked a good goal, nearly made a precision pass.
