Thankfully we have it in our own hands. Port playing someone else and rolling over them like that while we play earlier and don't win by as much, screw that.

We will know that if we can get our percentage above them, each goal we kick is 8 points they need to kick to get ahead of us.
It is moot.
We need to win two games.

So for us to get close to Port's % we'll need to belt brissy by 50+?

So we win by 60 we catch their % ?
60 would catch theirs, but really every goal after about 10 goals gives us a half goal advantage over Port.

That 100 point win was massive for them, obviously.

Say we win by 80 we probably have about a buffer of 10 points for the Port game. In that we could lose by only 10.

If we match their winning margin by some miracle then we will have about 20 points to play with. Therefore it's a dreadful result for us tonight.

I was personally hoping that if Port were to win, that they only won by about 30 maximum. We could then hopefully beat Brisbane by similar and hopefully more and have a greater buffer against the Power.

The Mundy kick was simply massive. Could've finished anywhere 2nd to 5th.

Now a huge scrap to finish 4th.

it just doesn't feel like our year this year, it's so depressing. we have been just pushing uphill all year, and just as you think that we're reaching the summit, we get knocked back again. i hate being pessimistic about our chances, but we have such a poor record coming off 6-day breaks and a wet track. it's just such rubbish.

fyfe's suspension, barlow's broken finger, our shit deal vs geelong, and falling to st kilda have killed our season.

We were up against it last year before we pulled off that win against Geelong in the qualifying final too, if you remember. Missing most of our elder statesmen for the majority of the season too.

Why?
What's the point beating Brisbane to lose next week?
The idea is to win both.

But if we lose to Brisbane through tanking then we have no margin for error. One green maggot's whistle at the end of a tight game against Port could cost us 4th spot. We need to do our best possible against Brisbane to try and build up our percentage to the maximum possible.

Not as bad as this year. We could afford to drop the Saints game in Rd 23, which allowed us to rest key players before the Geelong game - that was HUGE. We were safely in 3rd, and would've kicked ourselves if a Brisbane had beaten Geelong at Kardinya (which thankfully, because of another umpire **** up, didn't happen).
