Petulant little goose too I'd say.

And I love the Essendon supporters questioning where Thompson wants to play him.
While there isn't any excuse if he is actually being petulant, I would also be miffed if I was becoming a star defender but got moved up the other end just to accommodate Michael Hurley...

Think he's a prime example of how we as fans underrate form/confidence when judging players.
Funny , I was thinking that we as fans underate the ability of coaches to keep everything smooth and oiled. Thee is some sort of clash there between him and Bomber , he doesn't want to play forward but thats where Bomber want to play him etc. The line between pushing to get extra and pushing and getting less.
Chris Scott has done an A Grade job keeping most of our guys onboard and when they have decided to go , it appears they left with respect. Considering Bombers have limited draft picks , I smell a trade coming at years end. Carlise would get a something good and Bombe would probably be happy to see him go for someone he likes

Given our lack of up and coming KP backs (although Kolowhatsit) looks ok, I would give up a first rounder for Carlisle without hesitation. He was becoming one of the best backmen in the league at a very young age until they shunted him forward to accommodate Hurley.

wish there was a way to mute my 19 year old Essendon-supporting foghorn son!!!

My oldest brother has a son around 30 Y.O. who follows Esse'don.
He told me that despite that he still loves him.

But not very much and he's out of the will.

Is Travis Cloke the most overrated player in the game?

All we heard in the pre-season was how the new rules allowing wrestling in marking contests to be to his benefit, yet apart from last week, he's barely fired a shot.

Give me Tom Hawkins any day, and twice on Sundays.
What!? He's the best contested mark in the game! ( says collingwood supporter)

I tried it on the advice of others but the delay caused me to find the game difficult to follow :(
Delay can be weird. I was at the local pub (saleyards for Geelongites) watching the footy and the same game was on two different screens, but one was about 8 seconds in delay to the other. I am not sure what was happening

It's like multitasking- we can do it for short periods but not for 2 hours.

Another player to pick on... Zaharakis. .. what a front running flog he is. I noticed at one stage in the 1st quarter Heppell got the ball in the middle on the run... Zaharakis ran right next to him calling for it. completely trying to get a cheap easy kick, adding nothing at all to the situation.
Certainly didn't notice him except for blazing twice in the last quarter
Can we add Dyson Heppell to the overrated basket as well?
Now I don't watch much of Essendon and only saw bits and pieces today but what is his role? Is this defender supposed to defend?

That had nothing at all to do with the pots that you were having at the pub mate?

Bombers now 2 wins out of 6, no targets up forward (no matter what Bruce says) and looking shaky for the eight, let alone the 4.
Collingwood really dug in and recovered well. Cloke is no Hawkins, though.

McAveney really irritated me today.
Ball is kicked to top of square in first quarter, where Daniher contests with a couple of others. No mark taken (I am pretty sure)
- Bruce says "Daniher in the perfect position, like he always is".
- I say "WTF? 'Always' equals 6 games nowadays? And is he anyway, often in good position?"

Daniher takes a mark at HBF over some Collingwood midget.
- Bruce says "the rest of the competition will take that as a warning" or something to that effect.
- I say "Again, WTF? People will worry when the kid starts to seriously and consistently impact games - if he ever does"
