Those sounds you can hear are the pangs of Paul Roos regret.
Cant hear the pangs of regret over the car-chings , car-chings of his pocket. To be fair , I thought they had too many tall forward and they have none capable of playing. On top of that both West Aus team look like top 4 teams

Do they have the cattle , after this year Roos will have a much better idea.

I'm wondering if Melbourne are just treading water trying to minimise the damage on the scoreboard by trying to hold onto the ball. I'm sure once they get someone like Hogan or Clark back to straighten them up, or even Dawes, they'll try to be more direct going forward.

Unfortunately for them, their skill level isn't up to it, so they're always going to be burnt on the turnover, which happens way too frequently for Roos' liking.

Absolutely gold to hear Melbourne supporters talk. If you were to listen to them, you'd think Byrnes was the source of all their problems.
If you supported a side which has been getting beaten and beaten convincingly for 7-8 years in a row, I daresay you would be a bit negative as well.

Melbourne supporters deserve better than what has been served up for the last few years.

Hopefully hogan/Clark/Dawes can give them something to smile about. I don't pity melbourne I feel sorry for them.

It's not that. It's that they lump Byrnes in with the likes of Pedersen, when, as far as I'm concerned, he's been pretty good for them since he joined Melbourne. Wouldn't exactly be an easy gig for a small forward in that lineup.

Maybe they are being a bit harsh to Shannon, but I would think 30 wins since the start of 2007 would have something to do with their misguided view on football.

Just look at how we can overreact during a geelong loss, our board can go over the top with criticism of maligned players. Melbourne are 30-2-102 since the start of 07.

You may be right, all I'm saying is put it into perspective, with melbourne's situation.

This isn't the first time that I've been amazed at the transformation of the Eagles from umpteenth on the ladder- and getting some decent draft picks- to right up there contending for a flag (admittedly it's only game 2 but, by all accounts, they are quite something this season), under the Great Worsfold- with this year's coaching followed through by Simpson.Tanking? Or just unlucky?
