You don't think he'd be having second thoughts at this point?
Think he's the type of character who would be charged by the challenge and even more determined to succeed. WCE belted the Doggies last week and Macca has had them for (what?) 4 years attempting to indoctrinate his group. They are a seriously good unit are the WCE with an almost full list.

Thought the Dees were very competitive against the Saints with an undermanned forward half. And injuries. With a degree of accuracy could have got the chokkies even.

They certainly need some talls up forward so they have a decent target or two. Hopefully Hogan (who is a talent) Clark and Dawes will provide that for them.

Added to which I am an MCC member who sees a few Melbourne matches and I'm sick of seeing uncompetitive games.;)

Our start to the year is looking pretty diabolical! Pies, WC, Hawks and Port in the next month. That's why I'm super glad we didn't do anything stupid like drop one or both of our first two matches. Hawks and Port will really show us where we are at. I can see us losing one/both of those two, I hope not though!

Don't disagree with any of that, but I still think Roos would be thinking "what have I got myself into?"

They lost last week AM. Again it's not that they are losing it's how they are losing. Seriously who are the going to beat this year?

Yep! And their performance against the Saints was reasonable. Won most of the key stats and had they kicked with a degree of accuracy would have won. They've had one really bad performance.

Remember the Bullies got a seeing to by WCE last week and McCartney has had four years to work them into some sort of shape. Roos has had about as many months.

The Dees are a bottom four team and I reckon the main game for them at this stage is to be competitive. They were the week before. Sticking the boots in after one really bad outing is unreasonable. Then again, that's what we do here so often.;)

Is it only me that thinks every other club plays out of their skins against us and reverts back to shit the following week.
Being somewhat serious, yes I agree. I tend to relate it being up for so long its just the norm now for every Cats game to be a big one. And since 07 its not like many teams have not be on the receiving end of our best. Even Hawthorn, who we have never really killed, have the 11 - 0 thing to spur them on.

Richmond, for eg, have the memories of GAS kicking a score against them that beat them by himself, let alone ht rest of the teams efforts. Gets into the psyche after a while and becomes ingrained….
