PBC vs Labrador is to be played at southport sharks! Should be a cracking game

One has to be joking..... Played at the Sharks ground, as u all know, Sharks are in the NEAFL,, not QAFL. So where does Labrador or PBC, make some coin here via the weekly fund raising ( gate, bar, kiosk, bbq, raffles etc) that helps keep clubs financial. ???? Or is there an agreement in place that will see compensation to Labrador and PBC.??

Aflq charges clubs to host effectively making them the main financial beneficiaries of the final series and not the clubs. Misguided idea by the masters in my opinion.

Pbc are not hosting due to their facilities being under construction. Hopefully a good finals series ahead.

Lab too good for cats yesterday in atrocious conditions.

Depends how consistent the umpires are with awarding votes exclsuively to winning teams. A couple of the lower sides not playing finals have had standout players all year who could possibly poll regular 1 and 2's. They key is whether they got the 3 in the wins they had.

Guys like Jeanke-Cain for the Magpies, Trewella for the Gorillas, Murphy from the Vultures could be good roughies.

Otherwise Bryant, Kinch, Davey, Shelton, Abey would have to be good chances

Davey to win by a clear margin, the comps best performer by quite a bit. After that, Kinch or Trewella for me.Outstanding players consistently all season. As for a dark horse,,,,,, Neate from the Vultures might be a surprise and Haley from Broady might pick up a number of 3 votes.

Labrador in the scouts hut?
True, that's a bit of a sad scenario for a finals game. Could of been played at Labrador, but maybe their ground surface is a mess.... Maybe Surfers home ground, or even both games at Broady which has the best facilities and the surface should be ok by the weekend .( depending upon not to much rain during the week.}

If I was a betting man, I would also be on Davey.

Darkhorses for me are Trewella and Jeanke-Cain. Those 2 were standouts in sides that didn't win much.

The facilities may not be great at the present time but at least there will be a great atmosphere of local footy down there, southports ground is as dull as any with no atmosphere.

Atmosphere will be great. I've seen some great atmosphere at southport with the old local derby's (broady and lab). Not a spare car space when both teams were traveling well.

Surprise to read that Zorko's coaching position is being advertised with the option to rehire him. Bit surprising, thought he did wonders this year to finish 6th and only miss out on finals by percentage. Something going on at Surfer's or has a bigger name put his name in the hat?

In all my time around footy I have finally seen the best food ever at a game..out at the Western Magpies yesterday v Morningside the Maggie's had a "pig on the spit" roast pork rolls gravy apple sauce and the best crackling ever. You would think we were in country Victoria yday not Brisbane in August..Fantastic.. What's worse tho was it was down near the scoreboard and we could smell it at the visitors coaches box..not fair!!!!
As for the game, a battle early before the Panthers were able to open the game up as the weather dried out..Magpies a young team with a future, need to strengthen up the bodies a bit more, have always been a fan of young ruckman Dominic Beer. A great club the Magpies with brand new changerooms to boot..but those pork rolls...wowee

Hey Dogwarna,Thursday night up at the Maroochy Roos, I will see you your pig on the spit and raise you roast beef and veges, all done on the spit!

Alright... Tips for the weekends games?

I'll say...

Palmy by 15 points

Broadbeach by 4 points

Palmy by 30.

Mt Gravatt by 20. I think the inclusion of Craig Malone to Mt Gravatt the past few weeks is a big game changer for them. Should dominate the clearances.
