From my experience with AFLQ anything could happen. We have been forced to play on our ground when it was closed (with threats of fines) and then have seen leniency to others in similar circumstances.

So I'd say pack the spare socks and shorts and keep fingers crossed!

Only thing in favour of yes is it would be rnd 1 and grounds won't already be chopped up.

But the betting man in me says absolutely no chance of games being played and or games being caught up during the year.

Tips? Any rain tomorrow & tipping no games but just in case:
Burleigh by 6 goals
Springwood by 6 goals
Kenmore by 2 goals
Coolangatta by 3 goals

No chance of playing this weekend blokes , sides were named tonight down in the hanger, but no chance of getting a game on Saturday , considering Burleigh have had the game moved to Alex hills , due to the ground closure , hey there BOC , anyone at robina know that u post on here ?

Yeah we've named 2 teams but agree I don't think will be needed.

Yeah Stanley club are aware Chunk#5 and I are active on here - we've got a club code of conduct so as long as we don't breach that they are happy enough with us interacting.

Personally think if it's done in the right way it's a decent resource - great way to pass the time on the Bombay express to Brisbane each day.

And I've been known to have a bit to say on the field - find it actually keeps me switched on, and blokes potting u about something uve said on a forum is always good for a laugh.

Rain looks to have cleared and blue sky poking through nth Gold Coast.

We've got guys heading to the ground with brooms and buckets (100% legit) so doing everything we can to ensure there's a chance we get on.

Aflq have said will be a ground by ground assessment - only thing I can see worse then a total round washout is a partial round wash out and trying to find time to play catch up games as that has proved to be logistically impossible!!

Haha mustard ur from redcliffe aren't u? How's that flood plain going?

And Stanley please - isn't ur ground built on a former tip site??

3 results up of AFLQ , all won by 70 plus , good to work to AFLQ !!!

Well done to Burleigh, I think my prediction is right they will be up the top on 2014 , Danny wise was a star and Sullivan chimed in with 10 majors

Lot to work on down at the hanger

Robina to strong for Cooly yesterday.

After a tight 1st quarter Robina kicked away using superior ball movement. I think the Roos will definitely be one of many contenders this year.
They have a very even spread of players and Fulton would of kicked at least 10 goals.

Cooly played well in patches but seemed to reliant on 4-5 players and lacked a good forward option.

Hey BOC, I watched the flood plain game... No crocs, fish or any other aquatic creatures to be seen *wink face emoticon*
Ur boys obviously played well! How'd the magoos go? Richo still playing? From what I saw last yr he could've been a real handy utility in the 1's...will he get a gig back there, a giant onballer/ ruckman/forward is an impossible match up

Great to see all games went ahead - high 5 to all councils and aflq on that one.

Yeah good game at Scottsdale - intensity of first qtr probably took a cpl of our boys by surprise but once things settled we played better footy. Interesting that we actually think we play better footy on bigger grounds then at home!

2's had a good win with Richo and chunk slotting 12 between them.
As assistant coach in the 2s and co captain I think he will probably concentrate on 2's footy. But yea a pretty tough match up fwd or versatile ruckman who does play like an on baller. 2nd in league b&f and won the goal kicking (although the bloke he beat was robbed but got his just reward in club b&f - I may or may not be said bloke haha). Great clubman and well respected.

Springwood list looks ominous I must say - hooper could be in a league of his own in this comp!

They ripped me off i kicked 6 so all of a sudden me handballing over the top to someone to kick a goal seems silly hahaha.

Last year Coolangatta was backed to lose the first game on here against Burleigh by 100 points and we came out and beat them by 86 points.
This prediction you have made about Cooly really struggling is proof you have no idea of our list and our pre season. We will prove this round 1 against Robina.
Hey Borto, thought i would bring this comment up re Robina on the weekend.......... Bit stronger then you thought hey?

Borto - on a slightly more serious note then above how would u rate ur list compared to last year?

Obviously u blokes would be disappointed with result but is there many who didn't play?

Cheers to cooly boys for coming in and having a beer as well.

Yeh wasnt the best start for us i thought our first quarter wasnt to bad i dont think we have ever played on an oval so small before so tooke a few of the boys a bit to get used to.
The hardness at the footy from both sides was good im sure there will be a few sore bodies this week.
We werent happy at all at half time and we really thought we could turn it around but it just shows we have alot of work to do and we will be working hard on the track this week to have a crack at Coomera this week.
I did my hammy in the 2nd quarter so i was showered by half time which sucked but it is what it is.
I tell you one thing though wouldnt mind a fan in your change rooms its like a hot box in there lol

Tough day at the office for us, however as cliche as it sounds we will take a lot away from the weekend. With a 2 relatively new squads we got a good gauge of the bench mark and in speaking with a lot of the players, despite the scoreboard, I think we played well in patches in both games. We too look forward to next week and hopefully a good contest against the Blues (who hopefully bring a clash strip!).

Springwood will be tough to beat in both grades that's for sure. They clearly have some great players, but were pretty evenly spread from what I saw in both grades. They moved the ball well and punished mistakes.

Hard and fair footy most of the day.

The biggest reeming of the day however wasn't on field, but at the bar with $4.50 XXXX's. C'mon lads.... We aren't all on match payments ;)

although there's no way this won't come across as patronising, I've seen a lot of 100+ margins on that ground (most of which with us on the receiving end) but not too many where there is a clear structure and gameplan that looks like in time will come off. Won't be the worst in the comp like many were predicting that's for sure

$4.50 beers aren't too bad are they? Compared to most other old Allied Pickfords cup clubs over the last few years it's pretty reasonable. If beers are on the cheap at Coomera I might have to make sure I tee up a ride to the return game :D

Borto - yeah that first goal u boys kicked about 40 seconds into the game really showed u had trouble with the ground size!

Was missing footy like it was going out of fashion last week - 1 week in the coaches box and seeing how sore all the boys were and knowing it's only going to get worse, I now finally feel at ease with my decision!
