2014 SC Value Picks

I just dont see a CONSISTENT upside to his style of game, think he'll average about the same, maybe 5 points higher.
Dont get me wrong as a player I want him to be traded to the pies, just not sure of his SC value (think there are better options at his price range)

Oh I agree. I don't buy into the hype that Buddy gone will affect him negatively. It's just his position and the type of player he is, even though he is a gun I don't think he'll ever be supercoach relevant. But every side would love him.

I put forward one of the more common choices in SC 2014 one Matthew Suckling, if he averages 85-90 I'd be happy with that.

How's his preseason going? Not a hawks supporter myself so not following his progress.. Anyone else keen on matera? GC saying he'll play in the guts more this year if he can stay on the park.

Key point there. Also when you have a midfield that reads as such:

Ablett, Bennell, Prestia, O'Meara, Swallow, Martin

I don't think there's many points up for grabs for Matera in the midfield. Too pricey to be a rookie, and I don't think he'll break out into a legitimate SC option this year, seeing as he hasn't had an average over 67 in his 3 years.

Well I'm perma-banned from the Carlton board for calling Bootsma a spud. I wear that perma-ban like a badge of honour! But this is the SC board FFS. I'm pretty sure I also called Warnock a spud and wished him an injury in SC Rucks thread yesterday without any problems from the Carlton supporting dude the post was directed at. Ditto for Goldy and Atley with the Norf poster.

People shouldn't take criticism directed towards their teams players on Fantasy forums to heart. It's a Fantasy footy forum FFS. I do a fist pump when opposition players score against Carlton when said player(s) in my SC team.

I got abused by all and sundry including the mods then banned....Nek minnit little Jamie Elliot kicks 5 goals on him and we lose by less than that. I got perma-banned for calling it early (as soon as he was selected for that game) yet 2 days later half the forum were also calling him a spud, yet no one else got perma-banned for it. I'll always go into bat for Carlton players, but I'm realistic about their super coach potential.

People saying Gibbs as a SC mid is a spud, is fair enough, I won't even be looking at him. But to say he is a spud of a player is a bit rough, I'd say he'd be in the top 10 players at any club. And would have him in the top 75 players in the comp.

Glad people are giving murph a miss. For under 500k he's a no brainer for me.

Daisy is worth it at 340k, but you might be better off just going for a rookie.

Kade Simpson finished the year well after a slow start and is a consistent option down back, should be a top 6 back.

That's pretty much it for the blues SC wise. Graham could be a sneaky cheap pod if he gets picked and will score well if he does. Menzel would be a gamble but will definitely play and could score well up forward against lesser sides. But both unlikely to be great value/play.
