But of course injury is the huge concern with him. I would think he is an option but not if you also going MMac or Sandilands as they are both injury prone too.

Kreuz being injury prone is a misconception. He played every game in 2012 and also just about every game in '08 & 09 before his knee injury wrecked the second half of 2010 and the first half of 2011. Other than the 1 knee injury (which could have happened to anyone) and 1 or 2 very minor injuries he's been as durable as anyone. His knee is also fine now.

He missed a few last year as well. Not saying don't pick him just that I wouldnt pick him with Sandi and Hmac. As I have Sandi at R2 for the moment (changed heaps ot times already) I won't consider Kreuzer. Will he likely play in the ruck this year and only short stints up forward or vice versa?

Sandi is a way riskier pick than Kreuz. (Although I too currently have Sandi) At least if Kreuz breaks down it's a fairly painless upgrade (+90k) to Minson/Goldy, or single trade to Cox/Leuey/Nicnat et al.

I don't have Kreuz in my Rd1 team ATM but should Warnock not play for whatever reason, I'll be picking him as he presents the best value for money from the premo priced rucks IMHO.

Agree Sandi is risky but has a bigger upside IMO. I will have Dixon or Hale as a DPP sub for Sandi who can be traded down to a forward rookie or mid pricer if he gets injured.

I'd say Sandi has the biggest upside of all this year besides Beams, when fit the bloke is a 110+ superstar, just needs to stay on the park.

Disagree. McIntosh has the biggest upside. Solid pre-season training thus far, #1 ruck with not much else there to threaten him.

Dawson Simpson says hi........ o_O

No threat, not compared to Zac Clarke.

Dawson is a bit more than 'not much', IMO

Was racking up premo scores in his full games in 2013 - 102 ave (only 5 full games though),

I'm not a fan of 2nd year players - especially the big guys. I can see the Pies taking a long term view with Grundy and he may be rested or receive the vest. I think Jacobs is a solid option - a very gutsy choice, but he is well priced.

I think he had 4 tonnes from 6 games last year. Had a 60 odd and a 23 in the other two, but the 23 was when he got injured and subbed off in the first quarter. Worth a look....

Apparently nicnat trained with the main group and got through it today! Gotta grab him with sandilands IMO

Hes all your sc000ach.
Think jicnat is a greater risk than hmac and sandi and dont think hes a standout sc selection. I think there are at least 5 others who will average higher and score more overall points

I can't see Grundy being vested unless injured. If the Pies stick to their ruck structure (which based on personel I think they will) their back up ruck will be Lynch or White who are more pinch hit rucks rather than lead rucks. As for resting, given the pies' bye is round 8 there is a good chance (barring injury) that he won't be rested until mid season as last year he played about 7-8 games in a row at the end of the year.

Also worth noting on Grundy, that word out of the Pies is that he has been tearing up the training track and putting in extra time at the end of training sessions to do one on one work (well two on one I think Witts has been doing it as well) training with Hudson who doubles as the Pies ruck coach.

Whilst the exercise of hypothesising potential ppg averages is a valid one, have people considered aggregate scores? It is one thing to state that Beams may average 115 ppg, however why isn't their any consideration as to how many games Beams will play? Whilst 115 ppg is a mighty average, if he only plays 16 out for 22 games for example, his aggregate score of 1840 is well below a Marc Murphy if he averages only 105 from 22 games for example (2310). Will a rookie subbing in for Beams make up the 470 points in 6 games (78.33 ppg)? Quite possibly yes (and 105 is a very low estimate of what Murphy is capable of scoring), however given other injuries and specifically in the back end of the season, a lack of trades, is it worth risking a player who is notoriously injury prone and has missed many consecutive games throughout his career for a player with a very good track record of games until recent seasons?

If you have Jacky Martin waiting in the wings, he can definitely make up for any missed games by Beams (later in the season after you've upgraded all mids to prems)

How's his preseason going? Not a hawks supporter myself so not following his progress..

Suckling has just returned to full training, so I doubt he will be at full fitness for the earlier rounds. Good value for later on in the year perhaps

Will still be in my team, how is Schoenmakers going?

Assuming Martin turns out to be as awesome as everyone thinks he'll be this season.
