I will be furious at Waite if he leaves. Would be the ultimate shit on the club move after the time we've stuck by him.
Risky to retain him IMO. His lack of consistency (historically) a real worry. But having lost our top goal kicker (Bettsy) last year and to lose our top goal kicker this year (Waite) is unsettling. I'm conflicted.

i really feel we're in a stronger position.

Personally I see our best 22 as:

FB: White, Jamison, Buckley
HB: Docherty , Rowe, Simpson
C: Gibbs, Judd, Yarran
HF: Walker, Henderson, Waite*/Everitt,
FF: Casboult*/Watson, Menzel, Thomas
R: Kreuzer, Murphy, McLean

Interchange: Curnow, Tuohy, Robinson*, Garlett*

Emergency: Graham, Lucas*, Cripps

*If their still on our list.
Solid list. I see Sheehan forcing his way into the best 22 next year.

Our best 22 is ever-changing and I imagine it will end up been horses for courses next year. Personally I want us to work heavily on Lucas inside game since his hand balling in congestion is pretty good.

He is also pretty nimble in close.
Has shown glimpse's of why we drafted him. Just lacks confidence as Watson does.

What that have anything to do with throwing them into the deep end in their first year then dragging them back to shore to play in the VFL?

He looked so much at home bouncing down the wing on Saturday. That's his thing, just like the 30 metre kick he holds so dear.
Is it our game plan or does he just not get the ball enough? I'd happily swap stat numbers for Curnow and Lucas...Sugar only touched it 11 or so times and although the stats don't tell the tale you want a winger to be very damaging.

Lucas got burned badly when he was running hard on the wing a few times.

Simpson's kick that went over his head to Winderlich for a goal  is a good example....

We get smashed when we can't transition the ball quickly enough and Lucas helped immensely in this regard in 2013. He showed glimpses against the Bulldogs and WC as well before getting summarily dropped for our horrible team effort against Collingwood.

Sugar looked really comfortable out there yesterday with the team. Is he not popular with the playing group?
I remember Robinson telling Bell on the podcast that he wasn't good enough to room with Judd

Judging from Bell's reaction it didn't sound like a joke as well.

Heard similiar reports of Carazzo and the like making smart comments about Lucas at training which seems to be a problem when we have so many players bereft of confidence to me.

That is not something a leader should be doing. He is entitled to his opinion about everyone but you don't put a bloke down on the track in front of the rest of the team. That just tells the rest of the team it is okay to do the same thing.

So Robinson said that to Bell about Bell?

Or Robinson said that to Bell about Lucas?
