Right now we have picks

6
24
42
60

In an 'even' draft it's good to already have 3 picks in top 42

If we can add 2-3 more in that range it could be a handy hail for the club

It's about time we got some value with later picks !!!
I think we currently have 6, 26, 44, 62 due to GC and GWS both activating compensation picks. Obviously we've still got free agency compensation picks to come too.

We passed on 2 picks last year so Scotland and cachia were 'nominated'.

Sorry if this has been discussed….I just don't want to read 160 pages. ;)

What is everyone's thoughts on Warnock being traded for a draft pick (in the 20's) or for a KP or speedy mid. Surely he has some currency.

I think he is surplus to our needs now with Kreuzer and Wood being adequate and superior ruck options. Casboult can pinch hit (if he re-signs) in the event of injuries to the the Kruez and Wood. I reckon they'll need to rookie draft an 18yo ruck to develop though.

Thoughts?

Yeah you have to pick up 3 players from the national draft every year minimum, but I'm pretty sure you can take as many as you like.

So assuming we don't delist anymore it could look something this

National draft
Pick - 6
Pick - 25ish
Pick - 45ish
Pick - 65ish

Rookie draft
2 picks

Free Agency - Higgins?

But I've got a feeling there will be some heavy trading as well.

Also if Waite leaves thats 8 spots!!!!
Reckon we will get 2nd round compo for Levi, 2nd round for Mitch Robbo and 3rd round for Jeffy. Also GWS wanting big bodied midfielders they might look at a 2nd round for Bell or perhaps a swap for Jacksch which would be win/ win.

I don't think we'd get a pick in the 30s let alone the 20s for knockers

We'd be VERY VERY VERY lucky to get a pick in the 20s for Robbie. If we can get a second rounder for him and he's willing to go not a single soul in Visy Park would get in his way.

You mean in trades right? Compo is for free agents. At the moment none of these players are contracted.

Unfortunately, his currency has diminished heavily over the course of this season and it is very difficult to gauge if another club would be prepared to take him.

If someone offered us a pick in the 20's I don't think we could sign the paperwork quick enough.

Given his age and the amount of opportunities he has had to prove himself as a #1 ruck option I just don't see anyone giving us anything that high for Robbie.

I would love if this were the case but I reckon you are overrating those guys a tad.

Yes you are right, can we get compo for all of them, any chance the Afl will give us a 1st round pick for all.
Levi, Robbo and Jeff are not free agents.

They are not contracted so they can either
-sign with us
-ask for a trade
-leave us and go into the draft (we wouldn't get compo for this)

The AFL won't give us compo for them leaving but we could trade them for picks or players.

We could probably get the Saints or Dogs second round pick for Levi.

Yeah I reckon there will be interest on the trade table for all 3, as well as Robbie Warnock at around 2nd or 3rd round or perhaps a pick upgrade. What about Bell is he FA?

Yeah you could be right.

It would be nice to have both WA sides in a bidding war for Jeff but with Freo having Walters and Ballantyne you'd doubt they'd be interested.

Robbo is an interesting one, doubt we'd get a second rounder but it's probably not worth trading him for a third. Maybe we could get a pick upgrade for him, Robbo and our 3rd for someones 2nd.

Bell isn't a FA, I reckon he's worth keeping unless something too good to refuse comes our way.

Robbo would attract a 3rd rounder on the best day.

Garlett can't get a game with us so there's no bidding war forthcoming.

And how well is that turning out for the Tigers? Once bitten, twice shy. Hard to think that other clubs haven't taken notice of this either.

I just don't think there is any real trade value in any of these players, especially individually.

If Jeffy enters in the ND he may get picked up late, but that's the only way I can see it working out.

That's a fair point but at least Garlett has runs on the board whereas Hampson was always a project.

No point pretending to know what we may get for him because we really have no idea...........no-one does.

Can't say I'm surprised.

Had a lot of time for Mitch, but lying to the club, and persistent on-field stupidity (both the kind with ball in hand, and the kind which the tribunal looks at) has sapped it.

Maybe he stays, maybe he goes. But he won't be the same in my eyes again
