I also thought last night that other than key position players, we are lacking in outside types who can both run and use the ball well. Other than Yarran, most of the others have only 1 out of those 2 skills.

There can be only 1
We need knockers. He is one of the best hit out ruck men in the AFL. I understand that he isn't great around the ground, quite poor actually, but he sets up our mids nicely from the ruck contests, and he is good insurance for the injury prone Kruezer. I wouldn't be confident with Rowe/Cas/Wood as our ruck men if Kruez goes down again. Unless we get another solid ruck in exchange for him (which won't happen) or a draft pick which we can get a good ruck prospect with, the thought of trading knockers is stupid imo.
but does he?
Not many taps went straight to our guys. Against the hawks he was looking to protect himself a lot of the time.
In fact at every bounce he was more worried about what the other ruck man was doing.
He was not looking at where our mid were.
That was the most disappointing aspect of his game that I saw.

exactly what I said in the draft thread.

we have too many one paced mids. or we have dennis and others who are quick but lack elite skill. yazz has got it. doc & menz will have it when they build their tanks. daisy isn't very quick at the moment. but we need quick gunrunners with skill.

smith & hill were the ones who cut us to ribbons. even bruest got up and around the ground. and cyril.

What would we get for Warnock if we put him up for trade and which clubs do people think may be interested?
Warnock would be worth more than Hampson, so late first or early 2nd. Sydney, Geelong, freo or collingwood
Could use a ready maded ruck. I think it will depend on how there rucks stand up in the finals. I only want to trade warnock because I don't think he and kreuzer can't work in the same team and I would pick kreuzer. I think we should trade for Phillips from GWS he should come cheap. Our rucks won't be as good as they are now but we could improve overall team. I would like to trade warnock to Sydney for Mitchell

No decision could be made on Warnock before we know the long term prognosis for one M.Kreuzer.
I am in the camp that believes MK and RW cannot play in the same team.

With the very occasional exception 206 offers far too little around the ground. No urgency to get to contests,
and clearly does not believe blocking, shepherding and protecting the little blokes to be his responsibility. Can be
super effective tapping, although many get seduced by one or two standout contests, which could be brilliance
or just luck. As has been mentioned if he brought maximum intensity each week would be a much better prospect.

I am concerned for the future of "the Tractor" the article showing his preparation for life beyond football may be
prophetic. The kid is too honest to keep taking the big bucks if his body does not come up. Posters calling for MK to
be shelved for the season are off the mark. He needs to test his future viability for his sake and ours.

If Kreuze is "resurrected" would have no problem with Wood as back up, given that (pinch hitters) Casboult and Rowe now seem certain to be retained. We could draft (rookie or trade) a young ruck and shop RW around. We have to have an eye to the future. Warnock just seems comfortable doing just enough to retain his spot and lucrative pay packet, rather than being the best he can possibly be. If he raised his intensity, I would happily revise this opinion. (perhaps we do need to elevate Wood to make RW more "honest")

Any interest in David Mackay guys?

We need another outside runner....
Would be very handy but suspect the price tag may outweigh the benefit. Would be better off
using any "excess" funds to pay overs and manufacture a deal for a young DFA through the PSD.
If we could some how "harden" Lucas would also be better value for money.

The guy at the Crows ??

No goddam way, no team needs another soft outside seagull.

He doesn't bring anything to the table we don't already have. Besides, we are trying to actually improve our lsit.
Name one team that doesn't need outside runners? Isaac Smith is weak as piss but he still tears teams apart with his gut running and foot skills.

Mckay would offer more then Armfield as a outside runner.
