Serious y'aĺl. Varcoe, Cooney on top of higgins and Waite. Am I seriously reading this?

I wouldn't be surprised if 2 or 3 more kids put there hand up to walk next week.

Message to North, All Nick Dal Santo's are Free agents. Not all Free Agents are Nick Dal Santo's.

There can be only one...
All that comes to mind when I think of Varcoe is "either running fast and shanking it to the opposition, or sitting on the sidelines with injury", is there anything more to him? is he actually a capable defender or anything
He is a shocking footballer, I've spent the last two years bagging him in pretty much every Geelong gameday thread. Holy shitballs, it is bad enough I have to watch our turnover merchants, we need to import more of them?

Well, if you were a kid and you didn't think you could get a game ahead of Varcoe then let me pack your bags for you.

Cats fans not happy, even with it like this now. I'm a bit surprised.

Collingwood trade: Heritier Lumumba + Pick 30
Collingwood receive: Levi Greenwood +55

Geelong trade: Pick 55+21
Geelong receive: Mitch Clark + Pick 30

Melbourne trade: Mitch Clark
Melbourne receive: Heritier Lumumba

North Melbourne trade: Levi Greenwood
North Melbourne receive: Pick 21

Waite and Higgins are okay, I guess. Cooney and Varcoe are just silly, specially Cooney.
Cooney or Bastinac/Adams/Jacobs/McKenzie?

We racked up about 92 games this year to players who probably didn't earn many of them due to scintillating performances. I don't know if he would be a good asset or not, but he is a much better quality. I wouldn't be doing cartwheels but I can see the reason why.

Not sure Varcoe has done much the last couple of years to warrant interest.

Don't think 55 needs to be in this.

Where does he fit into our squad?
Well he's a definite upgrade on the likely players to get delisted so at worst he's experienced, quality depth. At best he's a definite upgrade on some of our half-forward, midfield options that played this year, providing good skills, the speed he has left and he's just dangerous around the ball.

For pick 56, if he plays 12 games hes worth it for mine.
If we can get him for pick 56(?), I will be shocked.

If we can get him cheap as chips, I'm in.

We have a midfielder leaving, Cooney can partly fill that and play forward. He also brings more outside play and polish.

If he's cheap like a 4th rounder and or McMahon type trade, then its worth it. He's still got a bit to offer

It is believed Cooney was set to earn close to $400,000 next year at the Bulldogs, but that the Roos are looking at offering him a reduced salary over a two-year deal.

If North decides to trade for the South Australian, it is expected to offer a late pick, most likely its third-round pick, No.56.

Well shit. I look like a dickhead now. ;)

My only concern is how much we'll be paying him. But as SnowRoo said, we're looking to reduce his pay.

I think Cooney is a gun and will be an asset next year. I'm backing our medical staff on all these guys and I think there backing them to. The figures do all the talking. Our list is perfectly placed - adding some talent to the list doesn't hurt while maintaining our early picks. This is the clubs philosophy and its a great one. We will have pick 16 and something in the 20s for Levi plus adding Cooney Higgins and Waite for nothing. Win win

How about this for a rumoured four club deal:

North gain pick 21, lose Greenwood
Lions gain Beams, lose pick 21
Cats gain Mitch Clark
Pies gain Greenwood, lose Beams

Makes no sense. Pies are suddenly going to swap Greenwood and Beams? Where does Melbourne fit in?
Melb get 2 knobs of Damn all because if they did get any picks thats exactly what they would get out of them!
