There can be only one...
Just a thought but if Freo are so interested in Black. and we hold all of the power due to him being contracted could we propose in a closed room the exchange of Black and our second rounder for S.Hill and their 1st rounder.

They so no, we walk away.

Addresses a gap in our side (outside pace)
Gives us another first round pick
Black can be replaced by Wood (in a potentially already overcrowded and over heightened fwd line/half)

??
We approach Freo or talk to Freo about him and the first thing Freo do after leaving the discussion is call his manager and tell him we are shopping him around. Once you put someone out there you have to risk doing a deal, like it or not.

Petrie has earned his right to stay in whatever position he want's. He has been valued servant for a number of years that cops unfair criticism from our lot and opposition posters calling him a flat track bully.
Well, he was a flat track bully, he has improved this year, although he is still pretty shocking with his converting from the corridor, a player of his ability should not miss from dead in from with the regularity he does.

His set shot isn't great, l made it a drinking game in the Sydney match.

No one has a "right " to any position.

It happened noticeably less when Brown was in the team, though carrying out of form players such as Black just cannot be tolerated as this provides opposing the opportunity to peel off and double team. This is why I like the Waite acquisition, essentially a substantial upgrade on Daw and CUrran
Well Waite, Petrie one out and say Brown (after some weights) on the Aerial Steinberg's of the world would be a handful and then they just isolate the bad matchup for the deepest forward and/or take the best defender away from goal.

It is a bit like Higgins and the possibility of Cooney.

I never rated Angus Monfries but suddenly when he went to Port they had about 4 blokes of his type and Wingard or Gray or a couple of them get off the leash close to goal and others play as extra mids.

People need to remember we got Higgins and perhaps Cooney they might end up on playing on some skinny 19 year old 10 gamer.

This is why we love this game....
WARNING = just don't read the comments

The one thing l find funny time and again is that the AFL, MRP and tribunal punish the use of bumps and hard hits, yet always the AFL show them on their promo's every year before the start of the season.

North Melbourne have rejected Collingwood's second round pick, currently 30 for midfielder Levi Greenwood. The Roos are understood to be interested in getting involved in a three-way trade with the Lions which would see pick 5 and Greenwood to Collingwood, pick 25 to North and Dayne Beams to Brisbane.

There is also news suggesting that should Collingwood agree to accept Brisbane's proposed pick 5 and 25 for Dayne Beams in a direct deal, pick 25 would be passed on to North Melbourne for Greenwood, with the Roos on-trading that selection to the Bulldogs for Adam Cooney according to 3AW this afternoon.

It would mean that the Bulldogs would have three selections in a row in the second round, with picks 25, 26 and 27.

So 56 looks like 25 now hmmmmm

Did I miss something. Vossy hasn't taken over has he???
Well you could be forgiven for thinking he has......we could end up a laughing stock next year if this 'buy a flag' strategy falls over......I'm all for improving our list but focus on players in their prime that will actually address our shortcomings eg Dangerfield, Beams etc, not hasbeens in their 30's.
